I've stayed at the Venetian and the Palazzo in the past. My memory isn't as great as it used to be but I believe you receive a coupon as a guest. It may have been buy one get one free. Even though I had ladies around, I/we never participated in the Gondola ride. We had planned on going but never did. I don't remember a single ride being $80.00. Not sure if you're staying there as a guest but if you are staying as a guess, you should contact the reservation people or the concierge. When you check in at either place, you'll receive a coupon package for bars and restaurants. One coupon is for the Italian restauant inside the Palazzo for 20% off. It's a good restaurant with good service.

Is the Gondola ride thru the Grand Canal Shoppes worth the price.  I'm seeing $80 for a private two-person ride.  That's up there with the High Roller, which I felt was over-priced.  Not finding any coupon deals on-line.  Guess one could risk that there's no line and do the lower $20/per person...but obviously I'd much prefer the intimacy of "just the two of us".   Just not sure if it even worthy of consideration.

I have seen (not partaken) the gondola ride.  They are battery operated gondolas and they run thru the shop/boutique area of between the Venetian and the Palazzo.  More about the operator who may or may not sing, may or may not engage with you.  They are tip driven... so  be aware.  I think it is as much of a hoot to sit on a bench and watch them go by and people watch with a cocktail as it is to actually have to sit thru a whole ride.... after a bit it looks a bit corny.

While you are in the area.... Sushi Samba is right upstairs... great coctails and a cool vibe.  Also in the area is the Hexagon Bar... GREAT cocktails..

But only if she wants to. But for God sake don't recommend it.I've done it a few times, yes it''s overated but the company I had enjoyed it so what the heck. They'll take pictures and you can purchased them at the end, which I did. You're not allowed to have the driver take pictures. And all the time that I've done it, the driver sang but like all...YMMV.
But I would avoid it only if you can....

The Blackjack rules and penetration at Venetian/Palazzo are among the WORST in Vegas.  If you feel you MUST play 21 there, take the Gondola ride...in the long run, it'll save you some $$.
Worst casino on the Strip, but good shopping and food.
