Samantha from NYC no show

First of all, note: I am not posting under an alias. I never have, and I never will.
=)

For whatever reason, my most recent review, which was to cover this topic, has not been approved yet. I won't go into all the details, but I wanted to post this here for the board's benefit. I am also posting because I am very confused about what to think about NY Confidential. For the record, Jason has been very courteous to me and has tried his best to fix all these problems. But the ongoing problems, as well as recent threads on this board, make me wonder if I should bother giving them another chance.

Background: Check my review of Kim from NY Confidential for most of the info about this. To make a long story short, my first session with them was to be with Brooke. She was a no-show. Kim was sent as a last minute sub. She was less than satisfactory, IMHO.

As can be seen from a previous thread on this board, Jason offered me a free hour with Samantha to make it up to me. That was supposed to happen last week. Believe it or not, she was also a no-show. To make up for that error, NY Confi tried to send two girls in her place, Ariana and Alexis, that very night. Problem: they showed up 30 minutes apart. Ariana asked if I wanted to wait until Alexis got there. I said, yes of course. 30 minutes into the session after Alexis arrived (just as things were getting interesting), the call came that Ariana's time was up and that she had to leave.

At this point, I was so fed up with the whole situation that I (politely) asked both of the girls to just leave. How could NY Confidential have two no-shows, back to back, then be so short-sighted as to clock-watch down to the second on the session that was supposed to make up for the previous disappointments? I realize that they were under no obligation to offer me the free hour in the first place. However, in the name of customer service, they could have done a lot better than they did.

So my question to the board is this: in light of my experiences with NY Confidential, should I even consider giving them a third chance? I'm starting to wonder about the saying that goes, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me..." Are there any reasonable circumstances under which I should give them another chance to retain me as a customer?

The probable reason that your review wasn't posted was because of the "piling on" phenomenon against NYConfidential a few postings below. You should never consider using NYConfidential because these morons posted that your name is safe with them because of "attorney-client" privilege--NYConfidential is supposedly owned by a lawyer.  Anyone dumb enough to think that a NY audience would believe that "attorney-client" privilege covers agency names is too dumb to prevent the NYPD from calling on them.

Actually, the reason given states "bad website." I'm not really clear why that happened and have messaged staff to inquire about it. I've double-checked to make sure that I put in the correct url, and both Ariana and Alexis have pictures on the website.

In case staff is monitoring this, could I have an explanation for this?

For the record, staff got back to me on this issue. Because I didn't link either of the girls directly, it got flagged for "bad website." I've corrected the url to link directly to Ariana, so I'm assuming this will get approved soon.

They obviously tried to make it up to you.  At worst, the phone
person fumbled the attemptted recovery for previous wrongs.

This kind of stuff happens all the time.  But, you can rest
assured that NO agency is EVER going to offer you a freebie.
NY Confi seems to be unique in this reqard and should be
applauded for at least making the effort.

No good can come from taking this type of complaint public.

Fans of NY Confidential will tell you to give them another chances.  The agency's detractors will tell you to go elsewhere.

You're the one who's suffered through two bad experiences.  Do you have the time, energy and patience to risk a third bad experience?  Or, is it best to move on to one of the many other lovely ladies in the city?  I certainly know what I'd do, but you need to answer the question for yourself.

If you engaged the services of an independant provider and she failed to show up not once but two times would you mention it in a review?

If the answer is yes, and it should be, why not critique the agency for the same unprofessinal behaviour?

This was discussed in private with the agency.

Ted (phone guy) was unsympathetic and unapologetic when I tried to discuss these issues with him immediately following the (aborted) session. Jason, although sympathetic towards my complaints, claims that he is no longer in a position to be able to help me out, at least for the time being. Without going into the details of what he told me, suffice it to say that NY Confidential as an agency is in a bit of turmoil.

Part of my reasoning behind making this public is because my attempts to resolve this in private with NY Confidential directly have been unsuccessful. At this point, I don't really care if they make it up to me or not. Mostly, I just wanted to warn people about some of the problems that I have faced in dealing with them, since some of these issues are not easily addressed in simply reviews.

I disagree with your statement that these things happen all the time. Check my other reviews - NY Confidential is the only agency for which I have experienced a no-show, to say nothing of it happening twice in a row. These things should not happen and I refuse to believe that they are simply a part of the hobby that we should just grin and bear.

I really had a positive opinion of NY Confidential to start with and think that they have a lot of potential if they can fix these problems. I just don't know if I'm willing to trust them again until I can be sure that the same things won't happen again.

Actually, I should have said these things happen all the time
with cheaper agencies.  They shouldn't happen with the more
expensive agencies.  But as people have realized, NYC is
really not a high end agency.  They just charge high end
prices.

But, has any other agency offered you a freebie?  That's
unheard of.  Most, AT MOST, would give you a small discount
on the next appointment.

From your post it would seem you got one hour's worth of
free (makeup) time - 1/2 hour with each lady.  If it wasn't
for them showing up at different times you would have gotten
two hours of free time.  As stated, you could have had
1 1/2 hours of free time but you sent the second lady out
after the call for the first lady.

I had scheduling problems with NYC on more than one occassions as well, none of which was the ladies' fault. The problems were eventually resolved to my satisfaction, but the incidents made me less likely to book again. Other agencies claim they would discard the client's booking information once the appointment is over, there is no way I can tell if that is actually the case; however, I did know that NYC retains the client information on file, something I was uncomfortable with - all it would take to get myself into trouble was someone at NYC doing a sloppy job. That was even before they made the threat to reveal a fellow TER member's "real name". This agency is very good at marketing but poor at providing consistent service in a timely manner. Will I book again? No. I can find better use for the amount of money involved.

I am sorry to say this, but TER may not approve your review. Last year I had bad experience with another agency (no show), so I wrote a negative review which TER declined to publish since I never met the lady.
