Tark is the Bear Bryant of UNLV.

Back in the hey days of UNLV when Tark was running the show, I had the opportunity to spend a year at UNLV on an exchange program from a big SEC school. Not like it was beneficial for my degree but the Rebels were Running and thought it would be fun. And HELL YEAH!!! Tons of fun back in 1990. Best sporting events I EVER went to and that includes going to numerous Bulls events in the mid 90's when my SO's family had season tickets right behind the Bulls bench. Didn't even compare to going to those UNLV games as a student.

Sigh... such a great time and some of the best memories ever. Met so many great people when the UNLV program was rolling and ended up in Las Vegas for my first real job after I finished up at my big SEC school.

UNLV basketball under Tark was so AMAZING and contagious. Las Vegas was still a small city at the time with only a couple of nightclubs at the time. Everywhere you went... it was all about the UNLV Running Rebels at the time. The memories are priceless....

Anyways... bought up a big block of tix at the T&M for the first home game since Tark passed which will be against Boise St. Going to be a great time...  From my sources, it's going to be an amazing experience.

Ole Des... you are invited to come along even though you are a New Mexico something whatever they are called fan. Don't PM me though... e-mail me. I Don't have VIP anymore. Pretty sure I'm getting a suite at a nearby hotel because we are going to get SFACED at my favorite place afterwards in memory of Tark.

For those of you old enough to have witnessed the TRUE Runnin' Rebels of the 80's & 90's, today is a sad day for us.

I ran into Tark twice here in Vegas over the past 15 years, both times at a NY Deli on Sahara & Valley View (no longer there).  People would approach and thank him and he would just smile and pose for photos.  I would just sit back and think to myself "Wow, that's Tark the fucking Shark.  I love this town!".

On a side note... Greg Anthony cut a deal today with Washington DC prosecutors to drop charges of soliciting a prostitute.  BTW, there was no prostitute, the cops posted a fake ad and arrested a traveling businessman looking for some innocent fun.  He in turn lost his job.

I met him at a Mobster NE Eve party and we had a blast.
Just a classy guy who gave so much to Vegas.
I know he has been seriously ill for at least 2 years, so it was his Time.
RIP!!!
We all should have so much fun.
BTW_ big family man as well.  His children adore/d him.

Clair

His teams were fun to watch and he had a lot of players who were able to make to the NBA.
