Does anyone have a good recommendation for a disposable/pre paid hobby phone?
Something with both text and voice capability would be best.
Thanks.

You can get the phones and pay cash into your account at Best Buys and/or Radio Shacks.

No contract, picked it up at Walmart for about $30 which included an ancient-type phone and $10 of credit. I always work through emails on my smartphone, so that phone is usually sitting in a drawer turned off, unless I have a specific reason to turn it on - for example a client without a smartphone who needs me to text him the room number before our date. I simply add $10 every three months to keep it active, and that's it. When I registered it it asked for my full name, email and address - I put down a fake name, my old address from years ago (moved three times since that address) and used an abandoned email I got back freshman year of college. Since I use it so rarely, I have about five first names of clients and their numbers on it, no text messages stored... works perfectly for me. I don't advertise the number at all because the last thing I need is people calling it frequently and complaining it's always turned off.
