That's definitely an awesome combination. Nice to see a lovely lady with a taste for cars beyond the usual choices :)

Unfortunately I don't have the same physical assets to incentivize the valets to keep my sports car unmolested lol.

I know these may seem like dumb questions but I NEVER typically use valets since I love my cars and I have seen the dumb crap that valets will do no matter how expensive the car but especially with sports cars like I prefer to drive personally. As much as possible I self-park even if it's less than convenient, but I'll be in Vegas for a few days at the Palms Place and I've never been there before so I may have to use the valet for once.

So, if I do have to bite the bullet, is it customary to tip the valet every time they park your car and how much is a fair tip? I'll probably be in and out of Palms Place so is it customary to give a tip every time? On the other hand, can anyone tell me how decent self-parking is at Palms Place? I was told they do have it but Vegas can be very hit or miss in my experience as far as parking.

Thanks in advance for your info.

that self parking at the Palms Place is right up front and very easy. If by some chance it is full (never had that be an issue) then the parking garage for the Palms hotel is right next to the Palms Place. I have been to Palms Place many times and never have I used the valet.
The bad news is that yes, you should tip every time you use the valet. A typical tip is around $5. I have noticed that older guys still tip $2 to $3 and younger guys with sports cars tip $10. The tip is generally given when you pick up the car but I have been with several men who tip both on the drop off and on the pick up. I usually only tip on the pick up unless I am trying to park at a hotel whose valet has a sign that says "hotel guest only" In that case I give them $20 to take my car and not make me drive to the back to self park. This is typically the problem at Mandalay Bay, Planet Hollywood, and Caesars Palace.

Will have to try that next time. PH is a hike!

I never park in self parking. I don't trust all the stupid tourist who will open their doors into yours and smash into your car pulling into or backing out of a parking spot. I only use valet and have 0 issues with them taking good care of my car. A lot of times they will leave it up front for me as well. I tip $5. That seems to be the average. If they are full I will flip them a $20 to get in or sometimes my cleavage will get me in, lol!! I know you don't have that to your advantage but it works for me!!!!!!

I hope this helps!

Well then you should always arrive with a lovely ladie that can take care of the cleavage part for you!! ;-)

the parking garage is right there next to the Palms Place there is also an open parking lot right there.
Plenty of parking that is no issue.
When I visit that property I usually valet.I tip $5-10 depending on the valet situation.
I know what you mean about the valet I just saw a story recently on 20/20 about what some valet people do with your car when you leave it.The tip the show gave was to tip the valet when you drop your car off instead of when you pick it up.I find this works well.
Have fun!

Appreciate the helpful info. I find it hard to trust valets after personally seeing one back a Porsche 911 into the front bumper of a Camry while I was at a 5-star resort in Florida. Ugh. Good to know self-parking is a viable option at Palms Place.

I usually self park and am sure to park my car a bit away from other cars--drunkish people can stumble out to their cars and accidentally ding your door or even leave a beer bottle on the ground causing damage to my car or feet (okay, never happened but I choose to be cautious!)

Certain places are just easier or necessary to valet at (Four Seasons!) and I ALWAYS tip ahead of time along with when picking up my car.  Ahead of time I tip $5 dollars, and when I leave, $3.  If valet claims to be full, I start with offering $10 but usually $20 does the trick.

The best part about valet is when the drivers offer me a water and then tell me to "stay safe out there."  Reminds me of a big brother or sister watching out for me.  :)

Enjoy your visit!

I worked valet at a strip hotel for a short amount of time.
When you drop your car off the valet attendants write a ticket and give you a receipt to claim your car.  On the ticket they keep they note if you left a tip and for how much.  So when you go to pick up your car they know if you tipped and for how much.  People who tip on the way in typically get put to the front of the line when it's time to pick up.  (Better to tip when you drop off)
If your going to be at the hotel for a while and you want good service tip a $20 when you first arrive and ask them to keep it close.  They'll typically keep your car near by.  Be friendly and tip a few bucks each time you drop off and pick up.  The attendants will know your cool and generous and word will get out amongst the valet crew to take care of you.
Also your car is typically safer in valet because the general public isn't allowed in the valet lot.
There are cameras everywhere so the likely hood of your car being "mistreated" is unlikely.  Also if they "keep it close" your car typically will be in plain sight so overenthusiastic attendants will have less of an opportunity to do stupid things with your car.
Hope this is helpful.
