guys

thanks for posting scams!!!  i go to hotels all the time, and i never thought it was dangerous, other than getting past the hotel lobby, all those people looking at me, and i always wonder, 'do they know im going for quite the adventure upstairs?'

this sucks some scumbag came up with this scam.  thanks for the headsup.

There have been reports in the past about a couple of guys trying to rip off clients of providers who are visiting NYC.

The typical scenario is that one guy will call up a provider to set up an appointment.  They will go so far as they need to in order to find out what hotel she is staying in and the room number.  They might even say they are in the lobby ready to come up.  Then, unexpectedly, they will not show up for the appt.  No cacellation at all.

Now they will wait in the lobby or hallway waiting for single guys to pass by.  They will get his attention and ask if he is going to see [provider x].  They will go on to say that they are working with her and need to collect the money up front before proceeding to the hotel room.  What ends up happening is the client arrives in the room thinking he has already paid, but he has just been ripped off and she has a very unhappy client.

I have never heard of a provider arranging this type of scenario intentionally to have someone else collect the money before the client enters the room.

Ladies - be wary of clients who don't show up after you have already given out your hotel info and room number.

Guys - If I ran into this situation, I would just pretend I have no idea who [provider x] is and continue to the room.  If she didn't instruct me to give the money to someone else, I would not fall for this trick.  I would be suspicious even if she told me on the phone to give the money to someone else before I have even had a chance to see her.

Everyone - Let's be careful out there!  This has been reported in NYC, but could very well happen in any city!

It happened to me about 6 months ago in a nice hotel in the 30's. Exactly as described...guy got on elevator with me and off on the floor then showed me a picture...copied from a download from Eros and told me that I was to pay him

I told him to get lost....he persisted, so I suggested that he accompany me to the room and we can find out the truth.  With that he ran down the exit stairs.

I reported the incident in here, but apparently it is still a working scam.

Thanks for your post !

Yup,
same thing had happened to me at an NYC hotel.  It was with a provider from Vegas, so the scammer, told me that "that's how we do it in Vegas..." and he even pretended to call the provider on his cell phone, as if to show that he was legit.  I went back into the elevator, and left the hotel (I've lived in New York long enough to smell when something's fishy) walked a couple blocks, and called the provider.  She told me she had no idea who that was and she came out to greet me...

I had reported my incident here also...
