Ladies: Is it appropriate to ask about STD's??

It almost seems rude, but why would asking a provider if she has any STD's (and of course telling her if you do) be so bad? I never have asked, but always wanted to just to be safe. Then again, if a provider has an STD then why would she tell, I would think it would turn clients away.

Sure its appropriate, why not ask ?
Ill even show you my clean bill of health if you show me yours !

Of course they arent going to tell you..if you are that leery, simply dont see whomever...

I've been politely asked, and quite frankly, it was refreshing!! If someone is concerned, it only indicates they are safe themselves, and that is a big one to me!!
I think it's all in your attitude....if you just ask politely, fine. If you ask with rudeness, you might receive that in kind!!!
If someone won't answer you, I'd run for the hills :) (or at least a different provider!!)

You will never really know if the other person has an STD or not. I've worked in one of the houses in Nevada and we did "DC"s--consisting of checking for any external signs. But still you never know. I don't think there is anything wrong with asking, but take caution if something doesn't look right...
