of course they will and so would you if you were in sales.

Would a provider cancel a long standing 2 or 3 hour date if a last minute dinner date or overnight presented itself? I had a cancellation on my last trip on a 2 hour and just wondering.......

It depends on the provider.
As in all aspects of life (not just the hobby) some people are just money hungry and don't care about other peoples feelings or time management,

Myself I wouldn't do it. I have a certain set of ethics I was raised with, and I dont fold.
....Maybe thats why I'm not rich LOL

Agree, would also say short sighted.

When I get canceled on I take into account:

a) the reason given
b) the lateness of the notice (tell me a couple days out and it's all good, tell me after the appointment was supposed to start and it's not so good)
c) the woman's general rep (some women have sterling reputations, others not so much)
d) What she does to make it up if any of these are poor (vague promises mean 0, and specific promises mean more)

People have problems, and I'm very willing to be sympathetic.  I pay when I cancel at the last moment because I respect their time even if I have good reason for my cancellation.  I feel it's reasonable to expect the same

of you to offer a cancellation fee if you had to cancel. Many gents won't do that.
And what I find ironic is some of the gents who mention on the boards about a last minute cancellation/no-show issues are some of the ones who have done this very same thing to providers.
It is frustrating on both sides of the coin.

If I am booked for an appt and another request comes up for the same day and time I decline that second request.I would not leave someone hanging if we have made plans.
However...I can see how some providers could book an appt and if something else came along that was longer the first person gets cancelled on.I guess it is similar to the guy who sends out a bunch of appt requests and then cancels on everyone and chooses one.Not fair if last minute but hey guys do it and some ladies do it.

Agreed..

I have had to move things around due to stuff in my life or the hobbyists but I always see someone if I say I will. I have only had a few dates flake on me and sometimes its planning. I am also a low volume provider and this is not my only source of income.  I can't speak for other providers but have heard that it is a problem here in Vegas with providers being extremely late and/or flaking all together. It makes it harder for us who takes this seriously to get appointments.

I suspect that is exactly what happened on my no-sho last Saturday night.

My Biz is sales related and doing things like this is a one way ticket to having no future sales. Guarantee you the OP has nothing good to say about the lady who stiffed him and will NEVER refer her to somebody else. (Hmmm... how many promising ladies I've seen fizzle away into obscurity because they didn't treat people right... can't count on two hands and two feet how many I've seen come and go over the years.)

Call me crazy... but I certainly believe in back channeling / referrals with some other well established gentleman on this board to verify before taking the leap.... and I do the same for them when they ask about a provider that I've seen. In fact... I rave about the really, really good ones and I highly encourage them to see my faves.

I'd give a recent example of a certain somebody I was interested in who stiffed over a well trusted friend with more then one cancellation but I'm not going to go there. Let's just say... I will NEVER see her because of her being quoted as a "flake" and "unreliable" even though she has stellar reviews and is some major eye candy that I was certainly interested in.

Sorry... but sales is a LOT MORE than just chasing after the highest bidder when a commitment has been made if you want to be in "sales" for the long term.

Cheers!!

I've been in sales 30 years and I guarantee you that good sales people keep their appointments.  Don't write this behavior off as "good business sense."  It is the opposite.

I would not, if I set something up with you in advance and we keep in contact then who ever new hits me up can wait. I am first come first serve. I don't think it's nice to do to others what I hate to have happen to me.

some Providers that would cancel if something better and higher paying came along. It is far more common for a Hobbyist to do a no show/no call. For instance, during the recent snowstorm when flights got cancelled, many Hobbyists who couldn't make it out of their home towns did not bother to call the Provider and cancel their appointments.

You Hobbyists who are use to dependability, honesty and reliability in your business environment need to realize that you are playing in a field where people are not necessarily known for those characteristics. Some Providers are in this profession because they cannot survive in a mainstay business environment due to a lack of these attributes and perhaps some personality problems.

So that I am not attacked for these comments on this page, I need to say the obvious. No broad stroke covers all groups, and for sure there are some Providers who act like authentic business people. I am just saying, stop being shocked when the Providers don't act like the business people you affiliate with at home.

I can give you some iron clad responsible Providers: Try Karli TER ID #254359, Selena TER ID #244908, and finally Jenna (although sometimes late) TER ID #189725.

I would never and have never.   First come,  first served!

AJ

I've never had it happen with all of the stellar providers I've seen and I'm pretty damn cheap... Lol..

I guess she was 'in love'.... I had been seeing her for a long time and I guess she felt she could do that. It was awhile before I went back, but finally did.
