I was a bit overwhelmed by my Dad's advice when I was about sixteen or seventeen.  "For god's sakes, he told me, keep that thing in your  pants!"  I wonder what "thing" he was talking about.  Seriously, I know he was very upset by his secretary's son who got a girl pregnant when he was seventeen and it caused major concern in the young man's life.  Of course, my Dad could have said to me, if you do take that "thing" out of your pants in the company of a girl, put a cover on it.  But he wasn't always  known for his good advice.  

As a relatively shy person, I didn't begin to experience the joy of sex with women until college when my more experienced roommate and I went to NYC and visited a lady of the night.  Since then there have been many more so I guess that  "thing" didn't quite listen to my dad's advice. Ah, the joys of allowing one's "thing" to see the outside world from time to time!
