Ahhh website design! It's one of my favorite things in the world.

I am a fan of Black Ash Consulting (blackashconsulting.com). Reason being is that it's all done on SquareSpace AND she will teach you how to use it the site so you can do updates on your own. It's template based but you can customize EVERYTHING. Plus SquareSpace optimizes your site automatically for desktop, tablet, and mobile AND it's SSL-secure.

Paramour Designs is sort of considered the BEST and I was with them for about six months. My website was a complete custom job. The designs are beautiful; however, with them being based in Australia it takes forever and a day to get something changed that you cannot have done within your control panel. Also, it's not the best because there is a lot of flash going on, etc. I ended up moving to SquareSpace and have seen an increase in web traffic, people actually going through the whole site, and numerous compliments on it's design and ease of use.

Things to be aware of: Watermark your photos (I need to watermark some of mine - on the to do list) people will steal them and use them. It's happened to me twice now. Stay away from the Flash stuff. It'll slow down your site. Make sure the flow works - does it make sense and does it get my users from Point A (entry) to Point Z (booking). I even include shortcut options on every page so that someone does not feel like they have to scroll back up to navigate somewhere. Make sure your navigation menu is easy to find and use. I do have a VIP area that holds all my photos dating back to my first photo shoot (I only place 8-10 for public viewing in my gallery), exclusive travel dates, offers, and some other fun things.

If you have any questions, PM me. Seriously... I love website design - it is so much fun!
HOOK a bitch up!!! Can't PM not VIP!!!

Although there are many template-based design-your-own escort ad websites, it sounds like you want a custom design?

Please keep in mind the needs of your target audience: US! You do not need and do not want the people who work for Disney or Amazon or other super-fancy ultra-deluxe web designs. In fact, for safety reasons, you want:
NO FLASH!
NO SCRIPTS!
NO large image files to slow down downloads or viewing.
NO POP-UPS!
NO auto-play video or audio!
NO password or membership only galleries.
NO fancy schmancy stuff that exposes us to malware, viruses, etc.
NO fancy schmancy stuff that exposes us to being exposed by cookie trails or being caught when someone (co-workers; family members) comes into our office or den while we are viewing.

To hobby safely, most of us need websites that are viewable using TOR or other safe browsers with all the protections turned on.  However, I also recommend that a custom website have:

A basic Welcome or landing page that offers:
Click [here] for the vanilla, plain HTML version.
Click [here] for the mobile friendly version.
Click [here] for the enhanced, deluxe version with all the bells and whistles.

Knock yourself out on the fancy stuff but I'll bet that most visitors opt for vanilla or mobile.

Good luck!

Hey there! I meant to tell you thanks a while back for all the information you gave me when I was asking questions about my site (bounce rate, etc). I ended up scrapping what I had, locked it down, and created a new one. Not only is it easier to use, but my bounce rate dropped to below 25%. Best thing ever! Thank you again!

LJ, xx

I should have asked for the envelope for my consulting fees up front. Now, I guess I'm screwed.

Thank you for helping and providing "cred" to some of my suggestions and warnings.

For "our" purposes, low-tech good is preferred to super-deluxe hi-tech beyond-spectacular.

One more recommendation about websites: NO UPSIDE-DOWNS! :-)

Wait a few seconds for it to flip:

And think about watermarking your pics to make it more difficult for others to steal them (use them as fake pics on their sites which will make others think that YOU are a fake).
