END OF MESSAGE

I am still relatively new to hosting M&Gs but with each one (currently on my third), I always get messages from hobbyists that feel that for one reason or another, they are above screening and should therefore automatically be included on the invite list. It is my feeling that unless I know you personally, you need to be screened. I don't consider knowing someone personally if I only have sent PMs on TER or have met you a couple of times over the years. Obviously, some people have gotten a little pissed off at me for this. I just believe that the people attending are putting a lot of faith in me that they will be safe in attending. With everything that has happened in Tampa over the past couple of years, I can't be too careful, can I? Am I being too strict with screening? I appreciate the input.

Not only that, but you, as host bear the absolute responsibility of your guests safety and continued anonymity (outside the party itself).
IMO you are not being strict, you're being smart.
If those who contact you for attendance do not submit your required info, I recommend the following.
Put together a cordial, cookie-cutter response thanking them for their inquiry, but repeating your party requirements.
(a one time only response; any future contact without required info goes unanswered)

Learning 'on the job' can be tough; 8 parties and I'm still learning.
Pleasing all with every decision is an impossible task.
You need to be able to shrug off criticism from one (without dramatic response) to ensure continued safety/security of all.

And no one is above screening.

unscreanned asshole to mess it up for everyone. Never know if le can infiltrate and?
Screen as strict as you can cause your protecting yourself and the others!

There's a reason why it's done.  Be strict about it and anybody who whines about it doesn't need to be there...ever.

I would seriously question why someone wouldn't want everyone undergo strict screening.  It is best to be too strict rather than too loose with the screening.  If someone has a problem, let them hold their own vent.
