I know this has been discussed elsewhere on TER, but I cannot find the thread so...

Last month I transferred my Date Check account, but I cannot gain access and despite my attempts to contact them, they have not responded to my inquiries as to why?

Any one else have problems with the transfer and were you successful in getting into the new site?  And if so, how did you do it?

Here's the link.

Someone on that thread might be able to help a bit more if the discussion doesn't have what you need

You transferred and you were able to access the new profile on date-check.net before the switchover?

You've tried the web form and the phone number (508-794-5008)? At least one person had success with that.

I transferred last month and was able to access my new profile on .net and old one on .com before the switchover, and am accessing new one on .com after the switchover.

That said, it's a week after the switch and there are still not many provider profiles up. 38 in DC, which is probably the most active city, and 409 total.

I'm having trouble figuring out the reason(s) for this switch. Maybe they thought they could increase revenue from provider advertising? If there were more providers some of the social networking features might be interesting to use, but the groups and discussions are pretty dead at this point.

In the end, they might have destroyed their own business with this. I've had my lifetime membership for over 4 years and have gotten my money's worth out of it, so I'm not going to be outraged. I'll wait it out. There's clearly a market large enough to accomodate more than one verification site, so maybe they can overcome this.

Like others, I had to contact customer service and go through a multitude of hassles before finally logging in. Like others, I was told that my account was fine, and that I 'should' be able to log in w/no problems... which was an irritating thing to be told when that obviously wasn't the case, and since it caused even more emails/delays.

I also paid for a membership (on the old site... I thought maybe non-payment was the reason I wasn't able to log in). That money is lost.

I really lost trust in the site. As of right now, I don't accept Date-Check because I'd rather not assume any more hassle. However, I possibly would accept it under very limited circumstances. I'd require 2+ very recent OK's, and I'd contact each provider to verify. That way, I'm treating it basically like the reference system
