Agree with both posts above. P411 is a great tool and you should check websites/contact each to see what us necessary. The process to get approval is daunting, yet worth it. Find ladies that with vouch and use their recommendation to get approved here. P411 is a valid venue as well. It s worth it. The world on the other side is definitely worth the effort.
Okay, so, I've been pretty curious about all this for a while. I've done research and every time I think I'm ready to dive in, I learn more about that one massive problem that's like a brick wall in keeping me out: References and recommendations!
Now, out of the hundreds of ads I see posted in the area, only a few specify anything about wanting or needing references. Plenty of highly reputable providers mention nothing of it in their ads, leading to the belief that it's as simple as just giving them a call and showing up. However, anytime I look up discussions or FAQs about starting this out or even just giving it a try, it always comes back to the critical concept of having references and how difficult it is to actually get your foot in the door without them. So, as a newbie, I'm coming to a crowd of more seasoned veterans with a few questions on this.
How difficult is it getting started in Northeast Ohio? Which providers are newbie-friendly and how would you find out? I'm tempted to just call a provider I'm interested in, but I don't want to end up inconveniencing that provider and accidentally burning a bridge by not being adequately prepared.

You're overthinking this. Sure, there are a few ladies who require them, but most do not. When you find somebody you want to meet, just go to her web site, and send her the info she asks for. If she does require references, move on to the next lady. Simple as that.
You don't need P411 either. A lot of ladies don't trust P411 (and that's a different discussion worthy of it's own thread), so why bother paying for a screening service when a lady is going to screen you herself?
If she doesn't screen at all, and lets just anybody show up, that's a huge red flag. In that case, run away.
