END OF MESSAGE

Sorry about the crazy email and site problems!  The email thing I thought was fixed...apparently I was wrong.

The website: I was hoping that the people who had trouble viewing it might try again and let me know if I changed enough, or if there are still pages showing as text only.  Admittedly, I only changed the txt. file extension, and left the extension-free files as they were...lazy girl's attempted way out.  If you still can't see pages, I'll be more than happy (downright giddy, even) to go back in and make the whole site into one big happy HTML party!  ;-)

xoxo~Taylor

I tried your site with a number of browsers tonight.    The one page that you fixed (home.html) works but the other pages with no extensions still don't.  Some web servers treat a file with no extension as html by default, others will treat them as text by default.  I would very strongly recommend always using the .htm or .html extension on every page.

Luckly, your site is running on the Apache Web server software on a Red Hat Linux server.  This will tend to behave better with various browsers than Microsoft's IIS, which can too easily take liberties with just IE.  But still, testing a site with another browser besides IE is pretty important.

Also, I read through the source and each of your pages has pretty major structural problems that violate major HTML rules.  An HTML4 validation on home.html actually nets 87 errors...  Yikes!

I'll drop you an e-mail with some thoughts when I get a chance.

Even the best in the metro area have issues with computers...LOL.  Looks like you might have to get the Geek Squad in and fix the web site.  Nothing worse than not being able to acess your web site...:(

Okay {{{sniffle sniffle}}} I officially saved my pages with an html extension.  Please let me know if those who couldn't see them before can see them now.

OZ: Thanks for the input.  HTML violations only bother me if they can get me thrown into html jail, or if they create a visual or linking problem.  My goal is to post a site, have the pages link together, and allow people to contact me.  I'm using the explorer browser, so apparently netscape and others aren't seeing the same thing that I see.  Please let me know if 1)the pages can be seen, and 2) which of my violations are still creating an actual problem.  I'll be needing to get those fixed.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Well it may be great for OZ the way you changed your system around Tayor, but now I can't open you site.  I would imagine there are others out there who can't either.  Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I don't think the problems are totally solved yet.

The site wouldn't open for me a while ago, but it just worked for me using Firefox

It must have just needed a short time to re-set.  Sometimes all of us need a short time to re-establish ourselves.  Call it a re-set.  Congrats Taylor on your computer skills.  I knew about a lot of your skills but not this one (-;;
