Yes, it's old (1972) and kinda sappy, but it did hit #1 on the charts. And when I was in my early teens I had a big crush on Karen Carpenter. It was a sad day for me when she died at the age of 32.

Plus it was one of my kids' favorite bedtime songs:  "Sing Top o' th' Wirld, daddy!"  So in time I memorized both verses. And not long ago, I wound up singing it to my ATF. We were talking about songs we sing/sang to our kids. We also sang a duet of "My Favorite Things". I told her it was probably the only time any client had ever sung that song or ANY song from The Sound of Music to her.  :)
