Most ladies will text you the room number just before the appointment. You need to have your own phone to keep things private, and more so if your married have a GF. Do you really want to be using a work phone to be texting escorts ?? Are you crazy..

I do not have secure cell phone (I use a work phone). After verification, will providers email me the hotel directions the day of or is it an absolute must to have a cell for texting?

Different gals prefer different methods. Some like to do everything via email and you can use your regular smart phone. However, I would say there are many that like text or even to talk beforehand, and for these ladies, I would recommend it. It's a small price to pay to protect yourself.

Solo mis dos centavos.

The app can reside on your smart phone and, while not perfect, is in most cases a safe alternative to an entirely separate burner phone.

He said his only phone is a work phone. Not only should he not use his work phone to contact providers, he also shouldn't be installing a burner app on his work phone to contact providers.

Not a chance I'd be that dumb. That is why I asked if a provider could simply email me directions to a secondary email account.

Probably not.  Most use a "2 call" system.  You arrive at the call point...  a hotel lot or a intersection near her incall.  She'll give you final directions from there.  Either by text or voice.  Sometimes the lady observes you at the call point before sending you the directions.

I have called before I got to the correct place & been told "I can't see you."  I was at the wrong end of the lot.  Another time I got directions which lead me around the block to park on the opposite side...  yeah, in front of her house... to see if I was alone

You should not use work resources... includes computers & conections... for hobbying.  Unless you own the company & have no board to answer to.   The need to text may not be great but some texting is likely.  A TracFone can cost 100 for the phone & service for a whole year... less after that.
You'll need a hobby email account too.

Burner app. Extra phone is too inconvienet and suspicious. I use hushed app. There are plenty.

Burner apps are good for people who have their own personal smart phone and don't want to have an extra burner phone. The OP said his only phone is a work phone. As I mentioned to jake above, it is not a good idea to use a work phone for the hobby, and that includes installing a burner app on the work phone.

What is he going to do if with no notice the company decides to upgrade the company phones?

Or what if he is fired and the phone is repossessed, burner app and all, complete with a full history of all the "illegal" business he has conducting using company resources. I could go on and on, but this should get the point across.

That was my point, (without going into all the what ifs). Just a bad idea in general. I can't believe that jake and gypsy both missed that very important part in the OP.

I downloaded the app and it became a headache for me. I like the thought of business separated from personal.

Most people I know who have a work phone have a personal one as well, for all of the legit reasons to keep business & personal life separate. If you have an SO, just use a burner app.  (Even if you don't have one, use an app.) If you can't afford a separate phone, you can't probably shouldn't be playing here.

That said, there are some providers who will e-mail me the information on a 2-call, but most don't.
