Is the poll result a true representation? It is hard to believe that only 2% are 51+. Do older clients less likely to join TER?

The "mode" might be statistically more revealing, and provide the info you're looking for.
i think median might also be more telling than average
early to mid 40's, but a surprising number of men in their 30's, very few over age 50, which also surprised me----the age of the provider might affect the typical age of her visitor
How about median with the standard deviation? lol
Or maybe age over hours spent together. Seriously, if a provider sees lots of young bucks, but they only spend 1 hour together per an appt. and the provider also sees some (real) men - but for far longer appt's, then does that help answer the question? It should be insightful to providers - since it would help correlate where their donations come from - and help guide targeted marketing.

Tough one to say! The "average" is 45-55, but there are some younger and older.
I would be surprised if the typical extended date is someone in his thirties or younger. I would expect most dates that are many hours in length will be more likey to have older men 40 + as a typical participant as older men i presuime usually have more disposable income
Sometimes the median is best; but, if a subdivision had 8 houses valued at $50,000 and one house valued at $500,000, the average would be $100,000. The median using the equation n+1 divided by 2 shows that, although the median would be $50,000, the better statistic would be the mode showing the frequency of that number.
if it is a normal distribution, which i suspect that it largely is, the mode, mean and median are all the same 
I don't think we have a normal bell curve here. The age will be skewed to the higher side (50+) than towards the 20 year old bucks. Yes, Ciara, you can have your pounding once in a while. "wink"
I hate to sound cynical but wouldn't the providers be more interested in:
1. average income/net worth [bigger IS better]?;
2. average length [per individual taste]?;
3. average staying power [less is best]?
Yes, I know there are many exceptions and I've hobbied with my share of them. Had a great time every time out. Lov yer all.
MY average aged client is in his mid-forties....and nearly always married, if that menas anything.
that's after my screener has sorted through the weirdos, LE, and other junk. Plus I request (if Im getting a lot of calls that day)that she send me ONLY 40-somethings.
I'm one of those gals that needs an intelligent and mature attitude..in fact if I do have a twentysomething I usually question why they don't just go to a college bar since they have the freedom and time on their side. Even more incredible, the mid-30s clients Ive seen have been the most immature of all....but not all.
Even though Im a twentysomething I feel like I'm their teacher or aunty...Us providers age mentally in dog years! I think I am not alone when I say that the average provider-regardless of her age- prefer seeing a 40+ aged client.
I'm a twenty something. I avoid bars because I knoew a provider (hopefully) isn't going get attached call my cell phone and have my girlfriend find out what I've been up to.
