I think it depends on what you're looking for in the relationship. If you're ok with the idea that one of you or both of you could fall in love with the other, and all the ramifications of that for yourselves and people around you, then that might be for you. But IMO there's big advantages to strictly p4p relationships. Personally I'd never get into an affair with another woman while in a committed relationship. I can only give my heart to one woman at a time. But p4p fills a big void in my life.
I have a long-term relationship with a provider that has some of the aspects you mentioned. She's learned my likes and dislikes, and I've learned hers. We also enjoy each other's company on a non-sexual basis. We've developed a friendship that outside of our p4p sessions is platonic. And that's all it will ever be as we're both in committed relationships. I see other providers for variety, and as a constant reminder that these are p4p relationships, not love affairs.
You might ask this woman if she'd do a sugar baby relationship with you. That would give you regular dates together but with some freedom to explore, depending on your SB agreement.

But the risk is one or the other becoming too attached & wanting more. By definition, P4P there is no involvement except behind closed doors. When there's on going involvement... there are more opportunity to stumble.

That is a very valid point that would be difficult to ignore. I can't disagree with that.
Although it may not apply to my circumstances, there have been ambitious p4p providers that elect to publicize private events between clients to make $$$. I guess it's a risk either way for celebrities.
