Regarding the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino

I have been to Las Vegas 5 times in the past 6 years and every time I made the trek to LV, I have stayed at the MGM Grand. I have always been very satisfied with that property, thus my returns to it.
I have had several different well known independent providers visit me in my hotel room at the MGM over these past years and have never had any toubles with them, the hotel, or security.
I have been reading some posts regarding the MGM with an element of difficulty as of late.
But it seems this was more to do with women "working" the bars, clubs, and resturants of the MGM and less to do with independent providers coming directly to the person's room.
However, I just read a recently posted review of "Anna" of "Pretty Maids" and the reviewer indicated that she was banned from the property.
So, to all the locals and to all the providers:
Has the MGM become less "friendly" to well known indy providers ?
If so are there certain properties that are worse than others and certain properties that are better ?
I am planning a trip back to Vegas in either December or May and I'd hate to find out after I had already booked and paid for my hotel that it was a property that a provider that I had wanted to spend time with could not enter.
If you would rather not answer this in an open forum, please feel free to send me a private message.
I am just curious because this seems to be, at least from an out of towners perspective, to be a somewhat new wrinkle...

I too love the MGM Grand hence why I have been going there for the past 10 years. I get the VIP treatment everytime I am there.

However, the new security measures put in place have been implemented just recently. I would say in the past 5 months. Because back in Janurary when I was there last, it did not exsist and finding and having friends come over to play was not a problem. I never said that they check everyone, but they are keeping a close watch on everyone that walks by the elevators and bars.

Last Thursday I went downstairs to the casino around 6:30AM and there were 3 guards questioning 2 LOVELY girls that were trying to enter the elevator area. I stuck around by the convienece store to see the out come and they escorted the girls out of the casino.

I have no clue as to why the sudden change, but I can only assume it has to do with the lastest reports on the crack down of our friends.

I highly doubt they would bother their patronage, but it looks as though they will not hesistate to act on any girl that does not belong in the area.

This is the way it works.  Metro Vice will set up a sting in a hotel.  (The MGM has been used in the past, as well as just about every other resort hotel in town, on or off of the strip.)  When the girl shows up to the room, she'll be arrested.  (I won't go into the legal details.)  Before the girl is taken to the downtown lock-up, she'll be escorted to hotel security.  There her photo will be taken, her name recorded, and she'll be issued notice from the hotel (not from Metro) that she is now "personna non grata" from that hotel property.  If she shows up on those hotel premises again, she'll be subject to arrest for trespassing.

This is independent of any possible conviction for prostitution in a court of law.  As an owner of private property, the hotel is within its legal rights to do this.  (Of course, Metro can't require the hotel to do this, but they certainly encourage the practice.)

I do not know if this was the case with Anna.  I do not know Anna, and don't claim to speak for her.  I just know about the routine followed by Metro and the resort hotels.

I can't read the review. What does "she was banned from the property" mean? It seems to me it would take some type of serious infraction to get banned, such as being accused of committing a crime. It would be nice to know more about the circustances.

I don't know. The reviewer just said that when he was setting up the appointment that he was asked where he was staying at. And when he said the MGM Grand that he was told that "Anna can not enter the MGM since she has been 86'd." and that he and Anna had to "arrange and outside meeting place".

I don't know if it was for being an escort or something else. But with all the mentioning of the MGM Grand and problems with providers and gentlemen there, I was having second thoughts about staying there next time I am in Vegas.

Do any providers have any negative expierances with the MGM ?
If so, please post it here or e-mail me privately....

I know a LV provider who was banned from the Flamingo and also arrested at the MGM. At the Flamingo, they had been watching her on camera and waited for her to leave a clients room before grabbing her.  At the MGM she was removed from the bar. Charges were dropped but she was taken to security at both locations, shown photos and tape of her on premises and told never to return.  This happened last fall.

I have heard from providers in Hawaii that the same practice is followed in Waikiki Beach resort hotels.  They "trespass" suspected providers, take their picture, and if they re-enter the property at any time they are subject to arrest.

I guess security must have a list of things they look for to help figure if the lady is a "suspected provider" or just a tourist dressed like one?

i always recommend the gentleman meets the young lady out side the hotel and walks her in arm in arm and walks her out .
This the casino cant prevent unless she has a prior issue on file in the hotel in question.
It was brought to my attention a lot of girls were trying to hussel in lobbys and bars and ripping guys of.
this is why the crack down.
But gents whats a 5 min walk down stair to kiss her on the cheak and walk her in like she is your GF. Just make sure you ask her her full ID name outside and she knows yours.. As a guest of the hotel they are limited to what they can do...
