You dodged a bullet....all you lost was time. What an effing biotch

On another thread I mentioned that I waited 1 hour and 45 minutes at a hotel for the provider to text me her room number. She never did.

I'm wracking my brain to figure out if there was anything I did wrong. I thought I was polite and gentlemanly in all my texts to her.

Well, could THIS have scared her off?

When I parked at the hotel she texted me to give her 10 minutes.
Now is the proper thing to do to WAIT in the car?

Because I actually entered the hotel to the lobby/lounge area to scout out the elevators (sometimes they are hard to find in a large hotel) and texted her "I am in the lounge."  Also, sitting in the lounge is more comfortable than sitting in my car. Should I have worded my text differently like "I will wait for your text in the lounge?"

Did she maybe get freaked out that I left my car and entered the hotel before she texted me her room number? If that's a possibility, why would that freak a provider out?

or some shit from her real life came up.  Very low class of her to not send you some message.

There is some debate regarding the best place to wait.  Waiting in the car is often a tip-off to LE, so I don't recommend that.  Some think waiting in the lobby is a risk, but if it is a large busy hotel, I think it is fine as long as  you are dressed appropriately.  Just grab a newspaper or fiddle with your phone.

Some suggest going to a nearby coffee shop to wile away the time.

By the way, waiting that long is too generous.  30 minuets, tops.

Thanks for the feedback.
Yes, it was a bustling lounge, right inside the main entrance. About 2 dozen people hanging about, talking, watching tv.  The pool was in the rear so lots of people passing by to go to the pool.  Most of the guests were in shorts and t-shirts/tank tops.

No one gave me a second look.  But maybe they started noticing me cause I was sitting there for so long!

since it is relatively easy to blend in with others there. I think it's more conspicuous to sit in a car outside in a parking lot or structure.

It sounds like you did nothing wrong. It's all on her. And like mr. fisher noted you were too gracious and gave her way more time than most  of us would have.

We both like the same women and we both have no issues waiting in the lobby. LOL

Btw, we haven't compared notes lately on any new hotties but I do believe we have the same girl at the top of our must see list. ;)

Yes, we'll talk privately. LOL

she got cold feet. You did nothing wrong.

Did you try to contact her the next day to see what might have happened?

BTW, most guys would not wait more than 30 minutes, me included.

Yeah she finally responded. I posted this elsewhere.

"Because something happened. I'm not obligated to explain. Get over it. Shit happens."

Yeah, I waited a long time. This is what makes the experience even more disappointing. I was so eager to see her, so looking forward to it that I was willing to wait that long and even forgive her if she had finally texted me back saying "Sorry for the wait. Here's my room number. Come on up."

Well, I was barking up the wrong tree. Entering the hotel didn't scare her off.

On my other thread, I shared her response to me. (She finally responded 48 hours later. She no-showed on Saturday July 9, 5pm. She responded Monday, July 11, 6:20pm).

Her response was VERBATIM:
"Because something happened. I'm not obligated to explain. Get over it. Shit happens.

It's true enough but rather rude & flippant...  especially after leaving you hanging.  I would not rebook with her, because of her pissy attitude.
I would not sit in my car more than a few minutes...  it looks like you are casing the joint, waiting for a drug deal or a hooker.  A busy lobby wth a TV fine.  A gift shop or coffee shop fine.  If there isn't a coffee shop on premisis, I'll withdraw to one down the block & kill time as folks do.  My max is typically 30 minutes unless we agree to delay.

My personal opinion, for what it's worth, is that you should out this provider on your regional board. Just state the facts as you have here.

Could be some blow back, but this is something that should be known by others.

Good luck.

Thanks. But I'm still thinking it over. I'd feel like a real ass if she did have a real problem pop up. Like, her mother died, or she had a heart attack (!).

Could be my experience was a one off fluke. Her ad was still being updated during this but her manager/booker could have done that.

I notice right now her ad is still up, but dated "1am Monday July 11."  Last time she was in town I noticed she removed her ad fairly quickly when she was gone. So maybe she IS experiencing some problem which is causing her to not be on top of things.

Maybe she was having a real bad day when she texted me her final message.  Hmmm....

Good points. But the response was less than professional, to say the least.

Your call. Again, good luck with your decision.

Shit happens, and she didn't owe you any real details.  But she DID owe you a "sorry, have to cancel" message at the very least.  Without that, and without any kind of apology days later, she deserves to be outed for her bad behavior.
