If you really want to stick with Frontpage, you can install it on a Mac. To do this you'll have to get Virtual PC witch costs about $130.00 and will allow you run Windows applications on a Mac by emulating a Windows PC.

If you don't want to go that route, there are a number of good WYSIWYG HTML editors out there, which run on a Mac.

Freeware, there is Mozilla's Composer, which is part of the Mozilla Suite, and you create pages in the browser.

A Mac only application you have Freeway (Express or Pro) Freeway Pro is arond $250.00.  I've never used it so I really have no idea about it, but it gets good reviews:

Then you have the industry standards.  Adobe GoLive and Macromedia Dreamweaver.  Being professional tools these are pricey, they each cost $400.00.  Dreamwaever is the top dog, it is what most professional webdesigners use.

GoLive, is Adobe's webdesign application, works very well with other Adobe products, such as Photoshop, it is actually the program I prefer to use, (though all my webdesigner friends tease me about that) easy to use and understand interface with a slightly less steep learning curve that Dreamwaever.

The Mozilla Suite is free, and you can get free trials of the other programs so you can try them out before you buy them, to see which works best for you.

Hope this helps...and in the event this doesn't help, you could always hire me to make a site for ya. *grin*

Im looking to revamp my website.  My current website I did myself and while it looks very good and easy to navigate and Im happy with it I need to redo it.  I used MS Frontpage to make it and I recently bought a Mac and I need to transfer my website from my PC to my mac.  Thus I need to find a program that is like frontpage where I can pretty much cut and paste a website using templates and such without knowing HTML.  Does anyone know of such a program where I can do that, that is Mac compatible and where I dont need to know HTML?  I need it to be easy to navigate and to make and where I can upload the site to my host.

I like having total control of my website without going through a webmaster.  And right now, Im still using my ancient PC for the website but I want to make my life easier.  Also, does something like this (making ones own site rather than a "professional") factor into your decision making?  Does it matter?  I want mine to look professional but also without all the bells and whistles.

Please help this girl out!

Thanks!

I use to use Dreamweaver - which is WYSIWYG ( what you see is what you get).

There are others - here is a list of those which will work with your Mac - http://webdesign.about.com/library/editorquiz/bledsfinish.htm?OS=mac&wysiwyg=1&pro=1&graphics=1&db=&intl=&cost=unlimited

I hope others step forward and help...  Good Luck

Freeway by Softpress is a great website editor for the Mac.  And, it doesn't cost much either.

It's slow ONLY if you have the base memory installed on your system and allocated to it.

I run three simultaneous OSs on my PC sometimes, have WAY more memory than I need is a good thing and a fast computer too.

Try VMware. It blows VPC out of the water.

Do you have a Mac running VirtualPC? It's slow regardless of amount of memory, in my experience. At any rate, she'd find it cheaper to get Mac-dedicated software, don't you think?
