I post my reviews using the classic - they show up much faster for some strange reason.

At least the old classic website moved along at a decent pace. Now that it is gone, I don't know if I can take the slowness of this new site. Ugggg.
What is wrong with the thing? I have seen some fancy websites that move along way better. What is all of the money going to if not maintaining a fast, usable web site. If it was free, I would not bitch. I have been paying for years.

Some of us prefer the old format (and speed) of TER, and have been using this link:

But this notice was posted by Staff:

GOOD BYE CLASSIC - Posted on 9/22/05 by Staff
As with all great classic’s, this version of TER now needs to fade into history. We would love to maintain both sites, but it is just too expensive. Hopefully you have had time to play with the new site and feel more comfortable.

The classic TER will be taken down on 9/30/2005.

I have found the new site is much more bearable in terms of performance by using Mozilla Firefox.

However, I like the new format because it's innocuous--suitable for the office, library and spousal eye-dropping. I haven't noticed its being slow.

I run a Mac with OS 10.3 and Safari and a cable connection and had have no problems with speed or any other issues.

Just my opinion...

i sent them a note on this with no reply
i do not like the new site at all
and would pay more just to keep the classic
site up and running the new site has to much stuff going on on one page and is all
squeezed together IMO

Is anyone as frustrated as i am since the format has been changed.  I can no longer easily take a look at the picture of the lady in question to see if she looks attractive in my eyes before looking at the individual review.  I am having to leave the website to look into the individual lady's website to see what she looks like.  I am very annoyed with this development. I
hope that this is not going to continue indefinitely!!!!! If any of you hobyists also feel the same way please reply.

Not really sure just what you mean on this one. The new format opens links to websites in a new window, so the TER page you were looking is still there along with with a totally separate window for the lady's webpage.

That being said though, no, you are not the only one that can't stand the new format. But in the end I'm afraid it's a small matter. I'm pretty sure that the % of people that cast a vote in the poll on the main page is very small in comparison to the total number of hits the site gets as a whole, making the 32% of those people that voted they didn't like the new format even smaller and less to worry about.

In the end, for every one of us that this pushes another step closer to the TER door, there will be someone to take our place.

I found a while back that if you went to edit a review after submitting it on the "new" TER ALL the profile data fields would be wiped clean and the long process of filling out every data field from providers name to their performance rating would need repeating. On the "classic" you could make an edit without clearing the entire profile data field. This problem can be very exasperating if a review is "unapproved" for need of an edit such as "bad website" or the like.

I really don't like the new site.  I don't like that guy's picture.  I don't like that I can't see which reviews I've read and which I haven't.  I don't like that I cannot submit problem reports and other similar features (and I have all but turned off every security feature trying).  I don't like that it will not let me add to my favorites list and that I must go back to the classic to do so.

I feel bad for saying this because I'm sure Staff has worked very hard to make the new site better than the classic and must get pissed off reading threads like this.  It just doesn't work for me.

...much like  I saw no problems in the old "Coke", before they started messing with it.

The new TER is a classic example of fixing a problem that doesn't need it.

Of course, we do get the added benefit of not having automatic text wrap, when we change the size of the window.

However, it does go to show how smart Blaise Pascal was, when he said:

"... I have discovered that all human evil comes from this, man's being unable to sit still in a room...."

Speaking of all human evil, when the Gonzales DOJ finishes its jihad against pornography and prostitution, I would imagine that both the 'classic' and 'new' TER will be just a fond memory.
