I need some help, as any internet search containing the word "porn", even when coupled with "agency" or "break into" just returns a bunch of standard porn sites.
As the title says, I want to get into porn. Like, really badly. My struggle: I'm pretty, but not thin. I've talked to a porn guy in the past, years ago, who said that because I was in between small and bbw, I needed to either lose weight or gain it.
For the sake of argument, let's say I'm 100% happy with my body and have no intentions of changing it. Does anyone know of agencies or productions that have a wider variety of girls? Also, any big sites I should look at to apply to?
I'm not completely lazy and have done research and applied to some already, but I'm starting to hit a wall. I'm hoping someone has a suggestion I either haven't heard of or thought of.

there are lots of providers in the porn industry here. you could connect with them during your visit. not to mention i'm really anxious to book a session. two birds, one stone! 
You best chance is to go to the Porn Capital of the World, San Fernando Valley California. Plenty of Porn Directors would love to get you into the Porn Biz. The Porn Biz isn't as glamorous as Hollywood. So be prepared for that. You better think long and hard (no pun intended) about getting into the Porn Biz. When a girl's porn career ends, it ends pretty badly. Just google a porn actress name and see how her life is after porn.
Last I read, anything shot here in CA requires condom.
Most of the bareback shit is shot in florida and elsewhere.

Who said he was a photographer and when I got to his apartment it was a studio and he had a camera not much better than the one on my iPhone. Needless to say, shots were unusable. I think I'm going to stick with paid shoots for now, especially since first time in porn is actually a strong market and I wouldn't want to waste that opportunity.
That's a girls worse nightmare.
I have a few funny stories about men with cameras but at the time was a pure nightmare.
It can become a nightmare when your looking for a good outcome.

I'm sure u will find work in no time. The only thing that turns me off about porn nowadays is that they will only give you like three months then they move on to other girls. That's just what porn became. They don't care about true por tetras anymore. Just fresh faces and quantity. After three months you pretty much have to do things most people wouldn't normally do to stay in the biz.
With free porn tubes and webcam sites, the whole game is rigged. So the pay will be much less than what you would make escorting, and your videos will end up online for eternity. Put all those things in a balance and if you still want to go ahead and do it. 😘
I tried to do por a few years ago and was quickly turned off about how the photographer tried to jerk me around about doing photo shoots for free with the promise of doing a hardcore scene with a famous male porntstar. I'm naive but not stupid. Maybe start with web camming and see how you like that and then work from there.

... and other porn sites. I only look for the free stuff but sometimes end up on a "branded" home page (B--- Brothers; B--- Bus; etc.). There is often a link to "Join Us" or "Work for us" or "New Models Wanted" and so on.
If you find a place that produces the kind of material you'd be interested in doing, start with them. E.g., "Gentle Nubiles, Inc." versus "Hardcore Huge Brutal Gangbangs, Inc."
In addition, I have read that Florida is fast becoming a major center for the biz. The gymnast - beauty pageant contestant who was "outed" started that way, I think. (Answered an ad, they flew her to FL for a few days, etc.). And the student at --- University and the other student at --- Univ also answered ads and did their shoots on weekends or school breaks.
As others have warned, avoid the "work for free" offers. The stories I've read (previous paragraph) all mention that expenses are covered AND there is compensation. AND DON'T FORGET TESTING - your own and anyone you're asked to work with.
Edit: On the flip side, there is no turning back. You sign the release FIRST and then do the shoot. A woman in FL doing a shoot in FL had second thoughts and told the company she changed her mind, she'd return the money, please don't release the video, blah, blah, blah. They said, 'OK, don't worry, we won't release it' and it was on their website before the ink was dry, I mean pretty fast. She had no recourse: they had a signed release (and won't shoot w/o one).
There is a lot of competition out there.
