I agree with the seasoned vets....you're doing just fine, a little improvement in website should help.  I'd totally come see you if I was in the neighborhood based on your reviews and you look very sweet.   =)

So this is a really touchy subject for me and I haven't seen anything like this written on the boards, but I want to bring it up because I could use some advice.

I'm new at this, relatively, with this week being my 9th week as a provider. So far business has been great and I've been loving this adventure. However, within the last week I've received 2 reviews that were...less than flattering. Before I go any further, I want to clarify that my objective is NOT to say anything, negative or otherwise, about the reviewers - everyone is entitled to their own opinion which is why TER works so well.

Back to my point - I love being a provider thus far and I am very scared that my business is going to stop. I have 16 reviews, all of them decent except for 2 recent ones, hence my subject title - how many bad reviews (generally, or for you personally) until clients think twice or decide to forgo seeing a certain provider?

Along this journey I've made some mistakes - at the beginning I'd made an assumption that once a client is "finished", he'd want me out of his hair. I've corrected this mistake and now am very careful to offer non-rushed sessions. My old pictures didn't have many (or any super clear) body shots, mostly because I'm vain and the ones I took I didn't like. I've since had photos professionally taken and they're available on all my advertising platforms, body shots and all.

I'm fiercely self-critical and while I hate competition with others, I engage in it constantly with myself, trying to be the best at whatever I do. So, am I over-reacting to my current 2 not-so-great reviews? Or should I realistically be concerned? I like living in reality so I can prepare for worst case scenarios and I could really use some clarity.

(To reiterate, just in case someone looks at my reviews, please don't bash or comment on the reviewers, as that's not my purpose in writing this, plus I think it'll be tacky and disrespectful to do so which will inevitably reflect back on me as the OP).

Thanks,
Abbi in MN

Those two reviews are not "bad" reviews.  They are fair to good, in fact.

The history of the reviewer has to be taken into account.  Both of those reviewers are on the conservative side.

Their comments about your performance are generally good.

So, to answer your question, one bad review would keep me from seeing someone if the review really was awful, and I had good reason to trust the reviewer (That is to say, he has a lengthy review history and/or board history.)

On the other hand, those two reviews would not keep me from seeing you

multiple reviews to get a better feel about the possible date. If I were in your area, I would be inclined to visit you. The reviews have their positive comments (even the lower scores). Guys need to take the time to read the reviews; not just rely on the numbers.

My suggestions to you are to improve the functionality of your website. Everything just flowed together. Maybe part of it was your photos seem to be different sizes which became challenging.  IMHO it is better to have to click to see photos, about you, donations, etc. rather than have it all just happen.

Good luck to you.

but your photos are gorgeous, and beautifully done! I must ask who your photographer is!

I think your photos are excellent but also don't care for how your web site is organized.

I don't think you need be concerned with those reviews.  I would not bring up that you think they are 'bad' BUT if someone mentions them be prepared to say you are new & striving to improve based on honest feedback.  HOWEVER, don't let anyone think that you'll offer services you are not comfortable with to get a better review.  Your body, your rules.  Practice saying "That's unsafe & I don't do that"

...are lower than your other reviews but the overall tone of the reviews is positive. The one thing they both said was to them you didn't appear as they imagined though I don't think either said you weren't the lady in the photos. You said you have added more photos that would give a clearer picture of how you actually look so it seems you have worked to prevent that from being a further issue. These two reviews in context of your other reviews are not an issue. If you were my type I wouldn't let these reviews keep me from seeing you. I don't think you are over reacting it seems to me you are using them to learn and improve. In your self talk you might be over reacting if you continue to let them bother you after you have addressed them.

Now to actually answer your question about how many bad reviews will make clients think twice about seeing you. The answer is as varied as the number of clients considering you. One could do it if it's particularly bad and the reviewer has credibility. Usually it's a few and they would have to show a pattern. Who wrote them and the writers history also plays a roll in their effect.

Keep asking questions, treat every situation like this as a chance to learn and improve.

All the comments have really given me some perspective.  In addition, I just changed my website so that each page is separate so that it's easier to look at.  Really appreciate all the feedback!  Plus I took some sexy selfies so I feel better about myself already lol.

...reading that you left a session after the first pop (only 15 minutes in) would be a huge red flag for many.  Based on that alone many would move on to the next lady (I know I would).

That said, it's good you acknowledged that was a problem which is now fixed, but unfortunately perspective clients won't read this newbie board post.  You might want to stress on your site that non-rushed sessions with MSOG are available and encouraged.

Classy too, that you didn't want to trash your reviewers. Their issues with you seem reasonable and not vindictive so I am glad you are taking them in the manner they seemed to be meant i.e. constructive.

That being said, I think your reviews would improve tremendously with some reasoned weight loss. Getting into better shape would possibly help self esteem (if that is an issue), improve appearance, scores, possibly make you more fit and healthy and may allow you to charge more. All positive things, right?

Your website isn't the greatest as there are free websites out there that are better, but I give you props for making the improvements you mentioned.

You have a fantastic attitude, a very cute face and the ability to admit mistakes and learn, and the latter makes you a breath of fresh air!

Overall, I would agree your reviews are "decent", but if you want them to be great, I think that is well within your grasp and ability, if that is a goal of yours.

So don't let those two reviews get you down. Use them as incentive to get better but it seems like you are already doing just that.

Keep enjoying the hobby, stay safe and good luck to you

For example, I see you have a number of good reviews, and your average score is very good.  If you were in my area, I would definitely be happy to see you.

Also I read critical reviews with a grain of salt. Often I see sessions not go as a client wants because their choices or preferences of what they want we're not fulfilled, but for me, it may not be a problem.  For example, some are less happy with a CBJ as opposed to a BBBJ, but for me, that's not an issue.

I'm just happy that you are conscientious enough to see a critical review as an opportunity to learn, grow and improve rather than a source of irritation. For that, I give you a thumbs-up!

So i took everyones advice and did an almost-complete overhaul of my website, hopefully it's more user friendly now.

Thanks everyone!

You look beautiful and are a curvy woman.     There are a lot of curvy women in the business that are successful in the business.     You are in a hard business and in competition with a lot of women.    A lot of women hit the gym pretty hard to combat the bulge.    I would look at my date and break it down from entry to exit.    Treat it like a movie production where the guy is there to rate the show.   Show up with a bubbly and friendly personality.
Try to be sexy and act sexy from beginning to end.    Use sexy clothes , vibrators, rub your privates like you can't wait, make the man feel really good about himself.     Be a horny seductress.    If you just lay there, your just acting like his wife and he could have stayed at home

Per my earlier note tonight, the website looks good.  Don't be afraid to show some full-body, square-on, standing looking hot type photos.  Lots of us like ladies with curves, and you don't want to hide the fact that you have them - both because you'll attract those of us with good taste ;) and because you won't disappoint those expecting someone scrawny.

None of your reviews are "bad," as a couple of people have pointed out already.  Not everyone is going to be totally attracted to everyone, and even though you don't blur your face, sometimes the in-person effect is different.  Mileage varies.  I had a date once on a business trip that I wasn't (frankly) all that attracted to, but she was a sweet gal and a great and giving lover, and we had a good time.  You just never know, and you don't know how people are going to review you.

Based on your reviews, I wouldn't hesitate.  No warning signs there.
