I don't care if a lady has 20 reviews but if the last one was from 2014, I would have second thoughts unless I could get good intel from a fellow monger who I trusted. TER VIP is essential to use the PM system.I was looking at a provider I wanted to see but only had 4 reviews. I like my minimum to be 10. Providers usually ask for no more than 2 references. What should be considered a safe amount of reviews?
A small number of reviews from veteran hobbyists is usually a good sign she's legit. If the four reviews are from guys with only one or two reviews, I'd wait to see if a few more get posted to make sure she's legit.
For me, one review by a veteran that has seen providers I've seen and our scores were similar, I'm good to go. There is no correct answer.
ven as a veteran hobbyist, I still will not deviate in my selection process. I prefer to see at least 10 relatively CURRENT reviews. She may have 50 great reviews from 2011-2013, and then only one review in November 2015, I'll pass. Or the lady may have 50 current reviews but she only has a backpage ad. (i.e. no website). I'll pass. Without question, I have missed out on seeing some great ladies, but these are the guidelines I have set for myself and they have worked.
The hobby is all about comfort level (both for hobbyists/providers). If either party is "nervous" about seeing the other (For the provider she is not 100% sold on your screening and for the hobbyist he is not 100% sold on her legitimacy) the session is going to be a disaster Do what makes you comfortable (whether it's the lady having 5 reviews or 20 reviews) and stick to your guidelines. There are no rules as to your own comfort level and no other hobbyist can tell you what you should do. How we select whom to see is a personal decision
OP appears to be in Phoenix and I don't know the traffic or TER population down there.
A highly rated Provider in a major market will have more reviews in a given time period than if she was located in the boondocks or hinterlands.
A reliable, highly rated, trusted Provider in the boonies just might not see enough TER reviewers to get the same numbers to hold up against a Provider working in a Big City.
It is so much a judgement, personal preference call. Just don't let the little head take over for the big head.
...so if you need to see 10, then stick with that.

You have to start somewhere so if the provider is new and has current reviews then I would lean to possibly being ok with that. This happens with you all too..,just starting in the hobby or just starting to review and have a private, but public presence. No reviews, only 1 or 2 references and maybe none, etc. You come up with other ways to verify. Ladies need to be ready and gents too. Remember if you can get in with a lovely lady just starting out, you can get grandfathered in to an intro gift experience. Some win in that thought!
I try to help out some ladies who are just starting...I know other ladies do too by stamping my seal that they are real and ok to see...my latest is Ruby Reed. I know there are other ladies out there like me so that is just one more suggestion too.
... Is that after I read the provider's reviews, I also read other reviews of the reviewers. For example, a girl may have just a few reviews, but if her reviewers are names I recognize on here, and I see they have many other reviews of girls, it gives me an added layer of assurance that the girl is legit.
But if she has several reviews, and all of the reviewers are scarce, only giving one or two reviews, then that will lead me to be much more cautious
