Picky, picky!  

Frankly, I love it all ways on the ladies:  clean, sculpted, trimmed, and once in a while, a la naturale (especially if red)!

As for the men, bear in mind that some of us belong to country clubs where we frequently shower or walk around other men in the buff, or have wives or SOs.  Lots of men in this universe, especially the older-set that do not play around, do not shave or trim.  They see you walking around their Club with a nicely trimmed package, and either you are gay (not that there is anything wrong with that) or if they are "in the know," can assume you play around.  Wives and SOs are a bit suspicious, too, if one day they wake up and you are smooth as a baby!

Therefore, I walk the line with some trimming but cannot take it all down.

Funny, though, as a triathlete/swimmer/cyclist, the legs are totally clean shaven.  Somehow that is more socially acceptable as you walk around the locker room!
