Why not ask for small deposit to guarantee the slot for the guys! ($10-20)

These ideas are all great in theory. Any payment other than cash leaves a paper trail, and guys balk at that. Mailing cash is impractical and more likely to get stolen.
May try to do a more public event. Just announce a location like a bar on short notice and everyone covers their own tab.

We have no immediate plans to hold another. These require a lot of work and a major financial commitment. Our biggest problem is not LE and not unwelcome guests. We book our place based on the number of guys who say they're coming. No shows put us in the hole financially. If we could break even we would have these frequently.

I like that idea. Or what about having a day or 2 where people drop their fee. If its in NY and most who attend are local no biggie to drop the cash ahead of time in an envelope with an ID # or their TER handle or some identifier. We used todo this for underground clubs in the 90's when they dropped the cash they got the address. No paper trail what so ever.

Before I retired from this endeavor, my parties would regularly have anywhere from 150-200 in attendance.  The absolute hardest thing was finding a venue that was reasonably priced.  The one thing I never did was have a host bar.  I would regularly clear at least 2K per party which included food, DJ,  and many door prizes.  I used to charge $40 per guy.  Ladies were free.

I cleared over two grand on my last party so again, guess my formula works

in addition, I know for a fact more than a few providers earned way more than that with all the appts they were able to book that night, just saying

At two grand per party, you should be doing it every other week.
My venues just cost more, i guess.

If you're able to come out ahead, why not step up and host another sometime in the near future?   I would bet that attendance would be good, and if the ladies that attend can also come out ahead...seems that you should be doing more than just talkin' dude...

You came to my first party and didn't come to the last three. Why would u care if I ever hosted again? After the AC bust I had my reasons to take a break from hosting and the folks on my guest list understood.                                                       Btw CD u have more experience than almost anyone else attending parties may I suggest u host one sometime and see what it's like , perhaps your name can be added to the list of us who have been outted by u know who. One host whose life was devastated by that move.                                                                                                                                                    So go ahead and host sometime. That would be more than "just talking dude"

When it comes to hosting parties, none of us have a franchise . That said, since you have tons of experience attending parties may I suggest you host one sometime? after all, by all accounts I hosted four successful parties in less than a year, why not try it sometime?

See what its like to put in tons of work to pull off a successful one
See what its like to have the biggest cancer in our little world out you
See what its like to have well known troublemakers, alcoholics, and certified mental cases fabricate stories about you, then email it around as if what they say is fact and have actual proof which they never had

People like you and others who participate in mass boycotts of my parties think you're hurting me when in reality you're only spiting yourself. Much to the consternation of several dozen would be party goers, I had to cut off the invite list at 100 . Had 44 guys and 32 providers show up and everyone had a grand time. That represents an attendance percentage unheard of east of the city of angel

I enjoyed attending the two M&G's that you held that I attended, so no worries there.  I would attend again, but it seems likely that I've been struck from your invite list...

Promise to self:  Don't interject comments on the boards...best to lurk 99% of the time..

in other words, while not actually setting up appts, you basically profited off of women making money on their backs and the men who want to meet them? What a winner you are.

thats nice, another person who thinks one can just snap their fingers and host a successful event. Havent heard any complaints from any of those women who picked up appts , or the guys who attended. Actually the opposite , received couple of dozen inquires as to when the next party is.

As far as profited, figure it worked out to about ten bucks an hour for all the time one puts into organizing a party, and trust me getting outted was no fun, so why dont YOU go ahead and host one? No one is stopping you

Cuz your premise is total BS.  As someone who has done planned and hosted many parties in LA, I can tell you, it is a lot of work.  The host is the one taking all the risk.  What if it rains?  What if the turnout is lousy.  The host still is responsible for the costs of the party.  And I have known of several hosts who planned a party and ended up getting a huge financial bath because of lack of attendance.  I've been very lucky in the past as my parties always turned out well.  But I know several that did not.

Again, the host works awfully hard to plan a good party.  Why shouldn't he or she be allowed to turn a profit if that is what happens?

My two centavos.
