I did once have a (fairly new) provider call me at my work to verify me.  I must have been unavailable, because one of our client service reps left me a VM saying (by name) that she had tried to reach me.  A Google search of her name would have turned up her provider website had the CSR been idly curious.  My lady friend and I had a conversation about discretion.

That's the kind of thing that makes *us* nervous about verification.  I totally get why *you all* are nervous about verification, and yours is a much more serious concern.

So when you providers contact a potential clients' references, What type of information are you looking for?   Just curious

That's pretty much it for most ladies.

A few ask for a little bit more but it's usually, "Did you mean Dick Hardmore; was everything ok and would you see him again?" or something along those lines.  :-)

Don't forget to ask the providers if they have a checklist of questions and how much information is not enough and in some circumstances would they ask a third or a fourth providers depending on how much information they wanted to know before making an affirmative decision.  Also ask them what are the three top questions they would ask and would they discuss them in detail on the providers only board.  Then you start to have an idea of how and what the providers are thinking when they are doing that part of their screening.

Good Evening,

I'm new here and wanted to add a question.  Once given the references from the providers, how do we confirm their real?  Coming from being new how do we verify its not someone who's a friend of theirs? I doubt someone would go the extreme but you never know. I would imagine matching, reference, to providers web-site or something like that.

I'm just curious. There's a lot of information on here :)

Thanks So Much!

I only take references from well known / reviewed providers. If they are unknown, no website, no reviews, no online presence then I won't accept the reference. :-)
