Hi Everyone:

My name is Ivy  ebony female from the Carolinas. Im new to TER but not the provider lifestyle. Im just familiarizing myself with the site and learning new things, thought I would drop in and say "Hi". Bp brought me here.

Once you get a review, you ask TER to link the review to your username. Then you will have free, limited provider VIP, which includes the use of the PM system, and being able to read your own reviews.

In the mean time, you can pay for VIP. I prefer to pay for VIP myself, as it offers more features than provider VIP alone.

My other piece of advice: Be *extremely* wary of taking advice from some hobbyists. Other women are more likely to have your best interests in mind.

Meena is 100% correct, the ladies are much less likely to have ulterior motives when making offers to help than some guys. You should especially be wary of guys who offer to take you under their wing, write a great review for you and generally get your business off to a rocking start if you will "only give them a free or discounted session" There really should be no place on the board/s for these predators, but alas TER is not 100% free from them.

Also keep in mind the guys can help you from the perspective of "what does a customer like?" but the other ladies can give you much better advice as far as what it takes to generate business, touring advice and most importantly, how to stay safe. Experienced ladies like Meena and our unofficial hostess Debbie The Nooner Girl are a couple of ladies always willing to help out a new girl here.

Hi GaGambler:

Thanks for the pieces of knowledge. I appreciate it and took note

First off, it would be greatly to your benefit to link your ad/website to all of your posts, EXCEPT those posts that start a new thread, AKA an "OP". This will give you a lot of exposure by allowing any guy (or gal) reading one of your posts the ability to simply click on your link to find out who and where you are. Just remember not to do so on an "OP" or it will be considered an ad post and be rejected by admin.

The other thing is that there are many providers from the Carolinas that are active here, several of them are friends of mine who would be happy to help out a new lady here. Feel free to post both here and on your regional board if you need advice or if you just want to let everyone know you are around and to get to know the guys and gals of your local community.

Once again, welcome to the neighborhood

Quick question...what does "OP" mean? I have a photo shoot planned for next week that Im really nervous about because I've always took my own photos. But  professional photos do look a lot better and I requested a consent not to disclose. Hopefully my website/eros will be completed soon with fresh photos.

I will be over in the Regional Board as well. Hope to see you there.

Thanks again for taking the time to help me. I really appreciate it.

IOW a post or poster that begins a thread and not a post responding to someone else's post.

TER has ruled that an OP with a link to your ad or web site is an "ad post" ad posts on any discussion board are prohibited. OTOH it is completely permissible to respond to someone else post and link your ad or web site to your post. It's a great way to make sure people know who you are, where you are, and that you are available and hot (I am just assuming you are hot. lol)

IOW = In other words

OTOH = On the other hand

;)

You could use the Search button to look thru the Newbie Board (and other boards) for various keywords having to do with photoshoots - there are MANY! Change the date range from 30/0 to something like 100/0 or 400/0.

Some key points:
- Consider having your pics watermarked to reduce the likelihood of unauthorized use (being stolen).
- Some pro photogs will add their watermark to the pics (free advertising for them).
- Read the contract and ask Qs before signing.
- From previous posts, I gather that a shoot might involve 50 to 100 snaps of which you get to choose 6 or 10 to keep. If you want more pics from that set, you pay extra for each image.
- Bring a friend or even a pro (or student) cosmetologist to help with wardrobe and make-up changes so you don't waste studio time.

If it hasn't been posted while I've been typing, check out the Photo Only board (for posting your pics; read the rules). Check out your local Ad board and posting rules.

It takes time to get your first review ... usually MORE time than most people hope for. Be patient. If your current clients don't know about TER, you can mention it to them and ask them to write a review.

So much more ....

GOOD LUCK

Awesome jewels! Thank YOU! Although I chuckled when reading about the professional photo thief's I cant be surprised. The risks associated with the internet can be serious, unfortunately. Actually, when I made my appointment for my shoot it didnt cross my mind to request to have them watermarked. However, I will be sending a email request to the photographer....TONIGHT!  You are correct about the number of snaps and images provided. The package I purchased comes with 10 images.

Question: What do you mean by "it takes time to get review"? Do you mean 6months...longer? I've heard people mention reviews but it sounds like getting reviews and screening go hand-and-hand. Oh yeah I recently learned the importance of "patience" in this business.  Perhaps both the money and reviews can get off to a slow start. lol

Thanks again,

~Ivy

Scenarios:
1. Thief copies your pics using YOUR name but a different phone number to capture people looking to meet you. "Ivy is a fake! I showed up and it was a different girl!"

2. Thief copies your pics using her own name and phone. Web surfers blame you: "Ivy uses multiple names and multiple phone numbers! Watch out!"

3. And others that can harm your rep and business.

Watermarks: You can always add your own watermark, so ask your photog for the raw pics, too. Opinions differ as to WHAT to watermark: phone, website, name, ...; WHERE to watermark: legs, torso, side, ...

Your first (approved and posted) review also creates your Profile. Many newbies come to TER Newbie and hope the very next guy will write their review and that the new Profile will be up in 3 days! It usually takes longer than that (based on posts I've read). A month might be more realistic; longer in some cases.

You've been doing this a while (w/o TER). Maybe you can ask a regular to write a review ... except he might not even know about TER. Tell him! A newbie reviewer will not get his review approved as fast as an established reviewer.

To have access to PM before you get a Profile and free limited VIP, you can pay for full VIP. I suggest monthly, using anonymous gift card payment because it appears to be fast and easy. If your Profile goes up in that time, no need to pay for more VIP, if you need another month, just renew with another gift card payment.

Good Morning Impposter:

You most certainly have been an amazing help since my post. My photographer said that we could create a watermark for image protection. Of course there is all the technical stuff such as if the image is too big it will take away from the look of the photo and if its too small then the photo thief can easily use them as their own.  My shoot isnt until Friday so I plan to brainstorm until them. It took forever to find a photographer I trusted, and  could afford. It appears my next phase is to create a way to secure the protection of my photos. Lol...something so childish is at the same time serious. In a perfect world  we would all be able to see one another secrets/flaws because they do exist. Ohhhh perfect world!!

So my current friends (I have 2 of them) are more sugar daddy material. They only want me for themselves and to even ask them to write a review for me would be like asking the thief not to steal my photos. Not good! However, I do have the professional shoot on Friday and it takes a week to edit. Hopefully I can attract the right viewer with a good attitude that wouldnt mind helping a sista out and writing a review.

Hope youre having a good weekend. If you dont mind me asking, where are you located? I live on the boarder line of Charlotte and Rock Hill. I realized that I like Charlotte a lot more and plan to move into the city by August.

ttyl,

~Ivy

Welcome Ivy.  What part of the Carolinas?  Welcome to TER, I'm sure you will love it.

Hi Superfan:

Thank you! I live on the edge of Charlotte and Rock Hill. What part of the carolinas are you located?

I live in ATL but travel to Charlotte and Raleigh often for work.  I will actually be there next month.  Send me a PM with a link to your ad or I will be on the lookout for an Ivy in the area.

That sounds good! I plan to have part of my website of and running by Wednesday so I will certainly send you a note when its up. I look forward to possibly meeting you.

Hello and welcome. I'm not new to providing but I am new like you to the TER forums!!!
