Use TER (or other reputable review sites if there are more popular ones where you are) to check their reviews ie. do they have any, are they good reviews, are the reviewers established, do they offer what you want. If you're in an area where TER is well known and used I recommend simply sticking with ladies who advertise on TER and still do your research.

Is Backpage as sketchy as it looks?
a provider by reading her reviews whether it be on TER or another review site.
How many times must this advice be given? Newbies should only see well-reviewed ladies.
It can appear to be sketchy. Since you're only review was Feb 2016, I'll assume you're a newb.
As others have mentioned proceed with caution! Use all the research tools available to you.

it depends on where you are. In my area, it is not highly regarded. However, I know some very successful providers that use it as their primary ad board, with little or no problems. You just have to your research.

...when he posts here. It's the same color as everyone else on the other boards. There used to be volunteer moderators on all the boards. Their handles were red. TER did away with those a few years ago. The kept Swimtrekr as a host on this board. Not the same as a moderator. He has no moderator authority.
I was the newbie board moderator until admin decided to self-moderate the site. For reasons unknown to me, admin asked me to stay as site host. Why, I have no idea. Maybe they wanted someone to kind of keep peace on this forum and make sure it stayed a friendly board to newbies.
It is true, I have no powers like I did when I was a moderator of this board. I guess admin just wanted someone to this board an informative place where those who are new to the hobby could can ask questions w/o having to worry about being ridiculed or harassed because they did not know certain things about everything works. I try to do that.
If someone makes a post here that I feel may not belong on this board, or is just inappropriate for the newbie's, all I can do is report it to admin, which I will do and have done. Sometimes admin agrees with me, sometimes they don't. It's their site, their rules.
I am always available for private questions as well as public ones if you want a private answer. Feel free to PM me.
Just an FYI, if I post on any other TER forum, my handle is the same as everyone else's. The newbie board is the only one where I am given my own/different color.
Lastly, I would have think the TER members who help me out with their input to questions, as I am not always able to provide replies in a timely fashion. They are my Highly Unpaid Assistants, and their input is very valuable as they sometimes have knowledge of things I do not. Or they are online when I'm not and they are concerned about the new people as I am but I cannot answer in a timely fashion.
