Several weeks ago, I posted a thread regarding new legislation signed in Missouri which placed severe restrictions on adult entertainment here, particularly on strip clubs. The new law was to go into effect on August 28th. However, a Cole County, MO judge has ruled that law unconstitutional on two grounds: violation of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution; and violation of the Missouri Constitution by amending legislation to include something which goes beyond the intent of that legislation's original purpose. The adult entertainment legislation was attached to a bill marked as crime and originally meant for drunk driving offenses. Cole County is where Missouri's state capital, Jefferson City, is located.
At least for now, this attempt to legislate morality in Missouri has FAILED!!!
