I'm Destyny I'm a provider and i'm new to TER. I have had an account for awhile, however just started using it. One of my clients said that I should use TER. I'm on other review sites and know how to navigate and post and do pretty much anything on them, but this site is confusing me. Like for instance how do I become a VP if I have no reviews? How do I post an AD when my city is not listed? I guess I need help with pretty much everything.

You came to the right place by posting here!

Have you read through the Self Help section?  I didn't know my way around at all and the help center really assisted me in better understanding how things/postings work on the boards.

One thing I also did that was a huge help was reading past posts... Cruise the other boards, too. Like, the general discussion boards and others.. The people are very helpful and I've learned a lot about my craft because of the help I've gotten from the TER community.

So!  In summary, you should read the posting guidelines in the help section and also read the historical posts on the different boards. Read, read, read, then ask away!!

Welcome to TER!

Love,
Krista

Thank you all for the tips.

Take a look at the Self Help Center. At the bottom of any post that you are reading, hit the "Back to Forum" button. Any such top or home page displays the red and white life preserver (kind of like a peppermint life saver) and the link is just below that.

Any account holder, Provider or Client, can become VIP by paying (or reviewing).

Since you're new, I am going to recommend trying at least one month of PAID VIP. Towards the top left of any page, select the My TER tab.  Then, look for "Buy VIP" in smaller type below the tabs. There is an option to pay by anonymous Gift Cards which would be fast and easy. I think it's around $30 for 25 days (the redemption values vary).

Once a client who submits a review of you gets that review approved and posted, THAT creates your Profile and TER Profile ID Number. (No review, no Profile.) If anyone is asking for your TER ID they usually mean Profile ID Number and you don't have one yet.

Once you have Profile, you are entitled to FREE LIMITED VIP. You can use PM (Private Messaging) and read your own reviews but you can't read the juicy details of reviews of other Providers.

How do I post an AD when my city is not listed? I guess I need help with pretty much everything.
What is the closest city to you? That can work. If you really far out, you can use the "Other Cities Ads" board.  Read the Self-Help Center for the Ad posting rules. Also check out the Photo Only Board (and rules) which is another good source of exposure (advertising).

Use the SEARCH button on Newbie to look for previous posts on your basic Qs. There are MANY FAQs and their Answers buried in here.

You'll probably have more Qs, so come back to Newbie after you've done some reading.

Stand by for more good info from swim, p'storm, Debbie and others.

Good luck.

Look underneath the Life Preserver for the Self-Help Center

TER can be not only a good marketing platform, but also an excellent place to network, seek advice, and learn more about what is going on "out there" in this business as a whole.

Impposter already answered your questions as best as anyone can at this time.  :-)

The only thing I can add about the Ad Boards is that you should double-check to see if your State is listed, even if your city is not.  Also, if you're in a very large state (like TX or CA) just pick the city or region CLOSEST to where you are located in that state.  ;-)

Please feel free to come back and ask any further questions you may have!  Or you may PM me any time; I'm always happy to help!  :-)
