what are YOUR personal preferences? I believe most providers are open minded, and prefer you just be yourself, as do I when choosing someone for a date.
Would hope both client and provider would accept each other as they are, not what they want them to be...

I have noticed over time how providers like clients who shave downstairs. Several questions:
For those hobbyist who shave, how often do you have to shave ?
When you first start shaving does it itch ?
How do you get your SO interested in you shaving without raising suspicion to your SO ?
To those provider who offer shaving as a service wow !!! Must make things pretty hot after you shave your client.
Many providers don't make any comments about all the hair that I have. A few makes some comments.
First of all, there are more reasons than sex to shave down below. I started when I was cycling a lot. I was just cooler and felt better against the saddle. I'm sure there are a lot of other sports that could lend an excuse.
I don't really remember what it felt like at first. If I don't shave for a while I do notice it though it is not an itch.
If I were worried about an SO, I would find an excuse to shave myself and then convince my SO to let me shave her. Even when I didn't shave, I was ready to volunteer to shave my girlfriends legs. From there you can take it where it may lead.

As long as you are very clean and trimmed up, that will suffice for most. The issues are cleanliness and comfort, not so much asthetics. Not everyone can shave for whatever reasons, but a clean, well-groomed man is always preferred, IMHO.

started doing it in high school while in sports.first time you kind of itch(but not to bad),second time you shave there is no
discomfort at all.i'm not really hairy in the first place but i do shave about every 2-3 days.i use a triple edge razor on my privates and veet(plastic razor)for arms & legs.as far as the
ladies i've seemed to get higher mileage from both hobby and
civvy women.to me it really make sex more erotic,fresh,and sensitive.one more thing,it makes your arms and legs look
bigger along with your penis.
But with only one tree.
It doesn't itch to shave...it itches the first few days it's growning back in.
The more delicate areas stay pretty smooth for many days. The rest is like my beard and begins growing in the second I stop shaving.
I like it cause it looks good with my dark purple lingerie.
I don't have an SO, so no advice there, but can highly recommend shaving the boys. The primary reason is the ladies prefer it, so what other reasons do you need?
I've nicked myself a few times over the years, ow, but generally speaking the skin is very resilient, so don't rush - no worries. The worst part is when the hair grows back. I won't go into details, you'll see, nothing major, but some people prefer to snip with scissors rather than shave with razors for this reason. Are you gonna shave around your ass too (rimming)?
And itching? You're gonna scratch and fondle anyhow, so forgetaboutit... Hope this helps!
