Last year I was going to PR and couln't find any info. on prostitution in the island from anyone here so I thought it'd be a good idea for me to post a review here.
    First of all, your options are very limited if what you're looking for is an old-style whorehouse of the likes of the legendary but now defunct BLACK ANGUS BAR & RETAURANT.  Basically I'll cover the only 2 options you have THE BLUE MARLIN and the bars along DE DIEGO AVENUE between Roosevelt Av. & Pinero Av.
   My #1 recommendation to you would be THE BLUE MARLIN, located in a San Juan neighborhood known as MIRAMAR.  It is located on Monserrate St. between Ponce De Leon Av. & Fernandez Juncos Av.  I hear is runed by the same owners of the BLACK ANGUS. If you're driving there the best place to park is on the NE corner of Ponce De Leon & Monserrate.  There's a pretty steady flow of traffic at all times and your car is very visible so it's safe.  From there you can just walk to the bar.  Don't let any of the girls give you an unsolicited massage unless you're willing to tip them at the end.  I refused to tip mine so she took the tip I had left for the bartender.  If the front door is closed go around to the back through the parking lot on the left side of the building (as you face the building).  Pretty good looking women but nothing to write home about.  There are a few other bars on this area you might want to stop by (on Monserrate and on Ponce De Leon).  Almost all have business women. If you're not familiar with San Juan, this place is very close to the Condado Lagoon.  Use the laggon as your landmark.
   The other choice, and coming in on a very distant second, are the Dominican bars along De Diego Av. in a neighborhood known as Puerto Nuevo.  There are several mayor landmarks near this location; Plaza las Americas (the largest Mall in the caribbean), the Hiram Bithorn Coliseum (baseball park where the Expos play) and the Roberto Clemente Coliseum, these two are side by side.  The good:  dominican women are very fast, loose, and some very attractive, many choices (about half a dozen bars within yards from each other).  The bad: a little risky area to go to by yourself, dominican women in these bars are con artists and some extremely pushy.  DO NOT sit next to one of them if she asks you to join her - you'll end up having to pay for her drink and that's full price for the little beer her co-worker working behind the bar poured into a tiny plastic cup.  So to sumarize; sit by yourself, don't be "Mr. Nice Guy" & if possible bring a friend.  If you're driving: parking after regular business hours is easy because of the many closed businesses in the area.
   Rate$ in PR should not be an issue if you're used to NYC rate$.  I sugest you save this post if you have PR in your future plans.
