References are great.  No calls to the office, you can have some control over the info you have to give
out.  All the girls are interested in is: Are you a standup guy? Well mannered, and who you say you are.
And yes, they remember their good clients.

When providers check references with other providers what kind of information details are they interested in?  What makes a bad reference?  And if a fellow provider doesn't recall or respond to the request what generally happens?

she asks you for a note from your moderator

They're looking to see how big your dick is, and if you washed it yet this week...

The main reason they check with other providers is that if you have seen someone else and they can vouch for you and that goes a long way in confirming that you MAY be an ok client.
It's just another step in the verification process.

Who better to say you are a legitimate prospective client than another provider who has already seen you.

Just my opinion...

There are so many things we are screening for (LE, criminal activity, etc.) so if another provider can vouch that you are a decent person to see, then that makes it easier for us to complete our screening process and get you scheduled.  No we're not asking about the size of your equipment.

Personally, I'm looking to cover a few different bases when I request a reference from a fellow provider.
First, I want to make sure he is who he says he is.
Next, I want to make sure he is someone I will be comfortable with-- are his expectations going to match mine?  Is he always late?  A no-show?  A scammer?
I ask the provider to give a tidbit of information about the client that I have intentionally omitted, like part of their email address, or a board handle.  I also check on the boards to verify emails and phone #'s of providers if the client has included the (providers') contact information.  I've even been known to check references not listed by the client if my gut doesn't feel right about him.  (And if I can tell who else they've seen.)
If the provider listed doesn't respond and there are no others to contact, I ask the client to contact the provider to request a response to me.  Also, many providers will do work verification in lieu of a reference.
I've been told my process may be on the strict side-- personally, I think the more consistent the protocol, the safer I am.  However, every provider has their own comfort level regarding this issue.

mmmmm...lets see.  A escort is going to ask for a reference from another escort on a guy that she probably saw at least a week prior (how many guys has she seen in the time since she last saw this client??) and she is going to remember him??  and give his name?? if he gave his real name or the same name he gave the escort looking for a reference??  Not being an escort maybe I just don't understand but it sure seems to me like an escort asking for a reference is a real waste of time????  I could be wrong so correct me if so....

I personally am looking for: Is he a gentleman?..Did he show up on time?...Was the donation correct?..Other than that, YMMV applies to most things....I am looking for a 'good time', not a 'hard time'
