Thanks to all who chimed in. Given the fact that I'd be willing to see her every time she came back, cancelling on me is a bit short sighted on her part. I get the short term money grab part of this business, but a repeat customer costs absolutely nothing to get, and now I'm not that guy.

I'll be interested to see if any reviews pop up for her on this trip. If so, we may have a cure for the common period!

This afternoon I got a cancellation due to menstruation email from a lady with whom I scheduled a date for tomorrow morning. This woman makes a monthly trip to my city, and I've seen her a couple of times. I asked if she'd like to reschedule, or if she'd be totally out of commission I said I'd see her next time she comes.

I've gotten nothing since, which doesn't particularly bother me, but it got me wondering. In circumstances such as these should the lady take the lead on rescheduling or saying I'd love to see you next time and I'll contact you as soon as I know when that will be?

Thanks for any input from either side of the aisle.

You need to reschedule. She may contact you next trip but don't count on it.

If it where true, which I highly doubt, she'd have answered your follow questions or will shortly.

My policy would be, if she's a must see try again next trip, if not, I wouldn't bother move her to the iffy list.

thoughtful provider would follow up, imo. In your case, consider yourself a few coins saved. Use it wisely on the next provider.

Then a cancellation due to menstruation.

Oh, the irony!

since she was the one that canceled. That just seems like basic respect, and a good business policy. However, depending on her behind the scenes organizational skills, she might not be that good of keeping track of details.

If it is important to you to see her again, then I would certainly send her another message at a later date. Hopefully you will hear from her sooner rather than later.

...for this baffling lapse in customer service is actually pretty simple: discreetness.
Something that is actually encouraged & sought after by both hobbyists & providers alike.
Almost every provider I've asked about this says that they will never initiate contact, that it can create awkward circumstances that the recipient can't explain their way out of. One of my providers will contact me from time to time, but we're buds outside the hobby enough for her to know that such contact could do me no harm. And it's always about non-hobby stuff. When it's time for the good stuff, I always contact her through her regular channels.

You may want to give her one more shot at a session. She may make it worth the trouble (she may not). Speaking from experience, it's better to find out about Aunt Flo stopping by before a session rather than during it.
