In the begining of your post I was unsure as to who or what this "host" was. In the end you indicate the host was the business associate you were in China to meet with, correct?

So if that is the case (fyi I do -0- international business so forgive if I am ignorant on foreign customs) and your host was a foreign business associate you clearly state "DO NOT SAY NO" to his dinner invitation or you'll be wanking. So then is it just assumed any man traveling there alone is going to be interested in a "date"?

If so then is prostitution legal there? If so or not what is societies outlook on men and monogomy? Is it society assumption  that men have the right to just do as they please?

Jesus if that's the case I'm 6'3 290lbs and more Italian looking than Tony Soprano do you think I could pass as a chinese citizen?

Thanks for sharing and hopefully the additional info.

I promised before to post occasionally on hobbying in foreign lands, since TER is not yet organized for it (hey guys--hint hint...)

In China, you can find escorts in all the ways you find them here, but because of language and cultural differences, it can be very hard for a foreigner to figure that out.  The secret: either go there on business, or have a local friend.  If you are there on business, especially in the cosmopolitan cities like Shanghai and Guangxuo, it is an obligatory part of the getting=acquainted phase that your host will invite you out, at the end of the day, for dinner and drinks.   DO NOT SAY NO, unless you really prefer wanking in your hotel room.  They will take you to dinner, and then to a karake nightclub (you gotta be ready to sing one song, so just practice something simple and dumb beforehand).  The clubs are staffed by hundreds of beautiful young women (In Shanghai alone, by one estimate, over 200,000 women between 20 and 30 work as hostesses in these clubs, and they are chosen for their looks and attitude), and probably  a quarter of them will go home with the right customer (that means one who is polite, is vouched for by his host, and is foreign). In fact, your host will almost certainly be assuming that you want to take one of the girls home, so if you don't ask it will be weird.  He is a regular at the club, so he knows which girls provide, and can help you pick from among the ones you like, one who will not disappoint.  This is important, because you choose the girl at the beginning of the evening, and spend a couple of hours with her before leaving.  You'll sit with her, play games, drink, flirt, exchange backrubs, etc., until it is time to go.

It goes without saying you have to appreciate Asian women for the exquisite creatures they are.  If you are into kinks, anal, or unsafe sex, this is not your scene. If you like to take photos of your girl in various states of undress, however, you may be in luck. If you are into having GFE sex with a pretty girl after an evening of building anticipation, you'll think you've died and gone to heaven.  By the way the standard rate is $180 US for full service, all-nighter, but your host will probably take care of the bill, especially if he really wants to do business with you.

OK, all for now...

yes, the "host is your business counterpart, preferably local.

Yes, it is assumed that any man travelling alone on business, or with male colleagues, is going to want a date.  If you want out, you need a good excuse, like you just had an operation and nothing works.

Prostitution is technically illegal.  Society's official outlook is very conservative. But the shadow economy accounts for a quarter of the total GDP, and has its own rules.

The girls who work the karaoke clubs are the smartest, most educated and best paid women in China.  Even without "providing" some of them make more than most male executives.  A girl who lands a really wealthy patron can end up with a million-dollar condo in her name.

They are practicing freedom from the old rules, just as the men are.  If I were not married...

Hairy, good information.  However, in my meeting we are all from away and work together back home and certainly won't do this stuff together.  Also,I won't be able to spend 2 hours in a bar and then do an all-nighter.  I'm looking for the 1 or 2 hours in my hotel room and then good-bye that I'm so familiar with back home.

Do you have any experience with escorts contacted by phone coming to a hotel in Hong Kong?

I would appreciate any replies, here or PM.

Thanks

I have a few experiences, mostly expensive and uneven quality.  The websites are a disaster--a lot of misrepresentation, bait and switch, etc.  But calling from the yellow pages you can get lucky. They are all immigrants, no locals--a lot of south americans, eastern Europeans, SE asians, as far as I could tell.  I found one absolutely gorgeous young Brazilian there, about 20, hard body, very talented; had one return visit with her  3 months later, and then she disappeared, probably  visa expired.  Hong Kong is a bit of a crap shoot.

I lived in Hong Kong for 3 years and travelled often to Beijing and Shanghai.  As for HK, my experiences with yellow page ads and Internet ads were almost universally disappointing (misrepresented pictures, primarily), but finding young ladies in HK bars and hotel lobbies was easy, I got to see what I wanted in advance, and it was easy to approach them.  No experiences in Shanghai, but word of caution about Beijing.  A lot of foreign ladies (Mongolia, SE Asia, etc.) troll the lobbies of the upscale hotels.  Bad news there -- poor English and from what my local friends told me, STDs were huge risk.  And then, you can be walking in the hallway where your hotel room is and you'll see a young lady who has managed somehow to get past the ever-present floor security guard (best way for them to do that seems to walk the hallway AFTER they've gone up to the floor with a client they've met elsewhere).  If you give even so much as a fleeting glance, or worse, a nod or smile in their direction, they will follow you and knock on your door after you've gone inside.  I learned my lesson fast -- I invited one of these ladies into my room for a pleasant time and after she left, the hotel security guard knocked on my door and informed me that either I give him a generous tip or I would be reported to the front desk and charges for an extra person would appear on my bill upon checkout.  There are lots of discos where very beautiful and intelligent young ladies go every night.  My suggestion is that you go there, strike up a conversation, and take things from there.
