Don't worry what others will think

If a provider offers 30 minute sessions than go for it.  Depending on who you see and her rate, it can take a provider awhile to get ready for you, and doing a 30 minute session doesn't make much sense to them. At least that's what I've been told.

I know business is business but I'm curious to know if only booking a 30 minute appointment is frowned upon for a first time meeting? I hear both schools of thought...

1) Book an hour to 90 mins in order for each of you to relax and enjoy each other's company.

2) When you go to a new Italian restaurant you always order the basics, first. If they can't get the basics right the rest is likely not worth ordering. 30 minutes is a great ice-breaker so you know you'll want to come back.

Thoughts are appreciated.

with these kinds of dates. With FBSM providers, the massage part is important to me, and I prefer exchange massage if the provider is ok with it. 30 minutes isn't enough time IMO for the provider to do a good FBSM along with pleasantries at the start and the big finish and cool down (and shower, preferably with the provider), and no time for exchange massage with the extras I like to include with it if the provider is willing. So I tend to do 60 mins for a first session, occasionally 90 if I know a lot about the provider (eg referral from another provider).

But if the Basics are most important to you, 30 minutes is enough time for those. You just won't get to sample more than the "quick lunch" menu at that Italian restaurant.  ;)

You should have no problem finding some who do that.  In fact, many straight massage places offer 30 minutes as well.

Even if she does not mention it in her ads or website, I see no harm in asking.  The worst she can say is no

I would say it's OK.  If 30 min. sessions are not listed as available, you will have to ask her if she does them and what the rate is.  For myself, I have never done a 30 minute session of any kind.  The vast majority of my dates have been hour-long dates, with a few overnighters and multi-hour dates.

unless all you're looking for is a super basic/perhaps lackluster massage with a very basic one-cup finish. Sure, you might be able to ascertain how she'll be in the future from 30 minutes, but when i did them, I felt so rushed that being myself wasn't the priority at hand.

And unless you're eating at Sbarro at the mall on a frequent basis, most Italian places can't get you in and out in 30 minutes.

even if the gal lists it in her ad.

Why?  In the 12 years I have been visiting providers, there has been only one who seemed to be a nympho and did not really need the money.

Consequently, I always spread out enough bills to cover an hour and often additional Jacksons.  The ladies, who sometimes are trying to earn the next day's hotel/motel room rent, appreciate having another day "in the bank"; their appreciation is reflected in their service.
