issues.  I do it from the ATM.

The IRS doesn't care, not their bag.  If any Department cares, it would most likely be DEA.

I think the issue about getting hassled by withdrawing money is over hyped.

Thank you.  Would be ok to withdraw 1,000 everyday for week for an overnight date?

which is a pattern of deposits or withdrawals designed NOT to alert your bank or the IRS, but actually has the opposite effect.

The IRS is a lot less likely to care what you are doing with money that you have already declared, paid taxes on deposited in your account than they are if you are making a lot of cash deposits, but if you start looking suspicious and start making it a daily habit of going to your bank and withdrawing a grand each day, THAT will start raising some eyebrows. Personally, I would just write myself a check for the $5,000-10,000 you want. Please also keep in mind that a Ten thousand dollar cash withdrawal is actually less suspicious than one of $9.000 even though the IRS will be notified. Taking out ten grand shows you aren't afraid of being reported and that your reason for the cash is most likely legitimate, but nothing will garner more attention than a bunch of cash withdrawals just under the threshold of being reported.

Alternatively, hitting the ATM for your daily limit several days in a row probably won't raise any red flags.

GaG is exactly right on IMO. Just take out the money you need in a one of and don't worry about it. If dealing with an SO then other considerations may come into play.     Regards....RR
