Anybody notice how quiet a place Yankees Stadium can be?? And how the fans all leave early?

Pedro vs Clemens
can it get any better?
PS. to Col Hogan :Pedro did issue an appology  to Zimmer this afternoon

Those immortal words of Flounder.  Thats how I felt watching the game tonight.

Some Random thoughts..........

Ted Nation just said it: Every time you think you're out, they SUCK you back in!

Nice to see Nomar over the Mendoza line. Series avg before game: .150. After game: .280. Ya think Mia cleared his Chakras last night or what?

Manny needs some Viagra. Either that or a smaller uniform. Maybe then he could run a little faster to first base.  Come on, Manny, at least try to give the impression you are trying hard to run!

We don't need no stinkin Giambis!

Looks like Meuller might be coming around.

Trot Nixon is the balls. I want him and Nomar signed for life.  Let Pedro walk if he wants more than 2 years or over 15M per.

Was I the only one who held their breath when Damon hit his head after catching the second out in the ninth?

Looks like we got ourselves a closer.

Have you ever looked at your sister-in-law and realized that you married the wrong sister?  Thats how I felt while watching Joe Torre's press conference. I like Grady, but I wish Torre were our manager.

Pedro may be our best, but a small part of me wishes Roger were pitching for us tomorrow.  He's got it together.

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow.

Sox/Cubbies? Could happen!

The Sox will win because the Cubs lost.  Those are the rules of the baseball Gods.  It's just the way it goes.

ps.  I am a former New Yorker and would rather DIE than root for the Skanks -- oops Yanks.

pps.  Although Zimmer did not deserve to be thrown down, let's not forget what a SHI&%Y job he did while he was part of Boston.

ppps.  Roger may be a great pitcher, but he has nothing in the brains department.  Pedro on the otherhand is very calculating and smart (although I have both Rookie cards and Roger's will probably bring me more!)

SOX ON SEVEN Y'ALL!

Hey hogan-
Notice the litter and trash blowing around Yankee stadium? Only confirmation that NYC is a toilet! Go Sox, the Skanks are done!!!

first of all Roger is a far better pitcher than pedro pedro has a long way to go to catch up to clemens. Now in rogers younger days with the sox he had a bad temper. he has controlled it

Don Zimmer was never a good coach i agree with that. even though you lived in NY you were probly not a yankee fan because if you were nomatter where you live now you would be one

Tonights match up could go any way. It all depends who has the best control of the ball clemens or pedro.

like you said about the baseball gods
The Yankees play ball the best when they are under stress

well good luck to both teams

There used to be a hardware store that had a picture of Zimmer when he was coaching the Red Sox with a toilet seat around his face.  Every time I went in there, I chuckled..

Pedro may be calculating, but I'm not so sure how smart he is.  In my opinion, he is all for himself, when out of the uniform and off of the field.  He complains about not getting respect, yet he turns around and disrespects management the day after they extend him. He claims to be all for the team, yet he leaves when it is important to him and he knows he can get away with it. They were in the middle of a pennant race in August, when he took a few days to go home to be recognized at the "World Games", or whatever it was. If he were a team player, he would have passed on that invitation. Instead of waiting a day or two until they were out of it last year, he announced he was shutting it down.  The smart thing to do would have been to keep quiet and let the team make the announcement once they were out of it officially.

I don't blame him for the Zimmer incident, but if he were smart, he would have expressed regret the next day, not yesterday. I gained alot more respect for Zimmer when he was obviously and sincerely embarrased about the whole thing. It tells you exactly where his heart is, and it is with The Game.

I have a feeling that management won't let him walk over them when contract time comes up. And you can bet your sweet bippy that come spring training, it will be an issue, just like last year.

That said, I will be rooting for him tonight. I'd love to see him pitch a no-hitter.

As far as Roger is concerned, I think he smartened up after leaving Boston. He matured, which I think Pedro needs to do as well.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Pedro is not a team player by any means he is out for him self and his team mates know it.

That is why he cant any respect out of uniform. I believe he will have a hard time during his contract renewals.

I dont think he is capable of pitching a no hitter at Yankee stadium during the playoffs.

as for me I will Be rooting for Roger I think he has improved his temper over the years and as he is getting older he has more wisdom.

I think Roger will be right on the money tonight

Roger has pitches in many BIG games. He has what it takes to get the job done.

Pedro just does not have the experience in a big game like this
