Right now "Remaining VIP Days" just says 31. Apparently I am being billed at the same time every month regardless of whether I've had a review accepted or not. My last review was accepted less than 30 days ago.
I've always paid for VIP since I haven't been inclined to write any reviews until recently. I noticed I was still billed for VIP recently, though, even after having a review accepted. Was this a mistake or are paying members not eligible for 30 days of free VIP when reviews are accepted?
Click on "Account Manager" in the upper right hand corner of the page.
Scroll down to the bottom of your information and the final item is remaining VIP days.
They probably added the additional VIP days for the review in addition to the ones that you paid for.

...charged every month. Your VIP days for reviews (problem reports, etc.) are banked. If/when you cancel your VIP the banked days will kick in. Once they run out your VIP will end. You can then pay for it again or write more reviews. If you purchase quarterly or annual VIP it is not automatically renewed. Any banked VIP days for reviews etc. kick in when the quarter or year is over. Once they run out your options are the same as previously stated.
Thanks for clearing that up. If and when I cancel my VIP I most likely won't care about receiving any banked days at that point...I'd prefer to have the credit now. I suppose I could cancel my monthly VIP payment any time, but then I'd have to write reviews to keep it and I don't want to be in that situation, either. Oh well...
That won't cancel your VIP as you still have days left for which you've already paid. You're just stopping the next recurring-billing payment from happening. That means that after your current days (for which you already paid with your last automatic payment) are used up, your banked VIP days will kick in.
Then when your banked days are all used up, sign back up for the monthly billing again.
It takes a few moments, but still.... easy-peasy!

...your monthly VIP you don't lose the days already payed for. If you cancel your monthly VIP 15 days into the 30 days you paid for your banked days for reviews etc. will kick in once the remainder of your 30 days are over.
I usually do get the quarterly. It saves a little money compared to paying monthly and gives you time to accrue a significant amount of days for reviews. You also earn VIP days for filing problem reports and reporting posts as long as TER admin approves the reports.
Maybe I should switch to quarterly VIP if I continue writing more reviews (which I will-- at least enough of them to join the Reviewers Only board). It seems like going quarterly might eventually be my best option.
Go with the quarterly option, its not recurring so you will have to renew once it runs out but any reviews you write during that time will kick in and extend your VIP. I prefer this option myself.
Agreed...this makes a lot of sense. After I accumulative a few more reviews I'll make the switch. Thanks!
