I dislike the hotel experience in general, and also feel it is insecure for both parties due to over-zealous LE.

Just curious, and trying to stir up some interest on this board.  Providers:  Which hotels do you prefer for incall in the TC?  Hobbyists:  Which ones do you like?

If there aren't particular places, what's important?  Parking? Large or small facility?  Quality of the room? Separate entrance?

Also, what about general location in the TC -- any particular parts of the cities preferred?  Any that are bad?

Inquiring minds, y'know...

Is an open forum like this really the best place for this type of question and the associated answers. Anyone can read this board.

Turk

I agree with your post on trying to get Prroviders more invovled on this board. But, This question will be the mark of death to the provider and make LE more concentrated on that particular hotel.

In general the question is good

I asked the same question some time ago, and was told this is best not posted on a public board.  After thinking about it, I agree.  I'm not trying to cause hard feelings Turkana, but it might be a good idea to pull this posting.

Turk,

I agree that specific GOOD hotel names could really be a problem if published here...  But here are some specific bad ones...  The Wyndham, Radisson, and Sofitel in west Bloomington are NO GOOD.  I know 5 FL travelers that have been busted in MN over the years and all 5 were at those three hotels.

Bloomington and Woodbury are bad, because the local PDs spend a fair amount of time with hotel managers asking for leads.  Most hobbyists don't realize how often provider busts are initiated by the hotel staff and not by overzealous LE.

The problem with Bloomington--HUGE city, combined with Mall = large LE department, and seasonal nature of Mall traffic means they are overstaffed the rest of the year...  and idle hands do the devil's work!  Compare that to SLP or Mendota who's local LE is probably 1/50 the size of Blmgtn...  you do the math.

Some places (like on skyway downtown) or that have larger meeting rooms (like most business hotels) provide me with a plausible excuse for my presence if someone I know spots me.

Many places reqire guest to come get you in lobby...  I don't think I like that.  Also, there are some places, expecially extended stays, that don't really have a lobby per se, so when you're inside the front door calling for a room number, or for her to come and get you in the lobby, you are right at the front desk.

And why is it that the cleaning staff with the cart is always, always, always right across the hall from my destination.  Never fails!

Obviously, I wasn't thinking of the LE aspect of it.  I'd like to think that my tax dollars, and yours, go to pay for something more productive than LE staring at this board (Hi, guys!)

What I was trying to do, and will attempt it in some other way, was to get some more provider interest on the board as well as more discussion.  We've got lots of good, interesting folks here who have good things to say -- so I'd like to see more discussion like we have on the national board.

So - sorry I picked the wrong topic to start with.  But the warning above is pretty good, huh?

Thanks to all.
