Pokemon Go and escorting (semi serious)

Pokemon Go has exploded in popularity among millennials for a reason: it connects the virtual world and the real world by allowing them to experience virtual events on their phone, overlaid on top of their surroundings, detected using the phone camera + GPS. This has unexpectedly facilitated a lot of real life interactions. But I can't help but feel this could be used to facilitate a lot of escorting-related interactions.

For example, when arriving in an unfamiliar location, you could easily excuse any awkwardness by appearing as if you're there to catch Pokémon (bonus if the hotel is also a gym). Works for both clients and providers, as long as they were born after 1980. Pokemon Go could be integrated into the two call system, by asking prospective dates to do virtual battle with them at a gym nearby (while verifying their identity). Possibly you could even scout out new dates at gyms, but some sort of code system could be worked out. In the very least, you could dramatically reduce any chance of arrest by always having the excuse that you were only interested in playing Pokemon Go.

Are you implying that my being born before 1980, does not allow fumbling with my phone in a lobby and pretending to be in the game?

I call foul... :-

Idk, you'd have to be convincing and seem to be actually playing. People walk up to unfamiliar apartments and locations because they often have new pokemon to catch, or to pick up pokeballs and eggs at Pokéstops, physically located in locations around the real world. To catch a pokemon, you have to open your phone's camera and virtually throw pokeballs at a wild pokemon that appears to be located in the real world (e.g. the lobby you're in or a street you're on).  Do ya think you could do that? ;)

in any case, what you say makes some sense, but also keep in mind that there are recent reports of people victimizing people by luring them to secluded areas and then robbing and assaulting people, so I'm not sure this is such a positive development.

The "lure" action basically makes swarms of pokemon appear around a pokestop after someone has put a lure incense item on top of it. This is a semirare item so it means hordes of players  sometimes physically arrive as well. Totes different from what I'm suggesting.

Also don't go to secluded Pokéstops lol (hotels and coffeeshops aren't secluded). No one is talking about abandoned parking lots! Rules of real life still apply ;-) ~

Also most of my friends think the juxtaposition is funny. Anyway it gives me something to do while in an unfamiliar neighborhood (a common experience for both clients and providers)

I know a few (from college) that do, including one with an almost unbelievable waist/hip ratio. All playing pokemon go. In fact it's hard for me to think of any Asian girl friends in general who aren't also playing Pokemon Go.

Loved the idea, as am a pokemon fan and player
If a system like this can be implemented, the awkward wait before meet up could be less tense
