He was a great newsman

He was real. I never thought of him as over the top. He showed his emotions without playing a part. I remember after 9/11 and watching his broadcasts and how professional he seemed, but the pain in his face betrayed every emotion he was feeling. The best part was he seemed to embrace every aspect of his job that way.

I started watching him with my dad, in the evenings after dinner. First Peter and then Tom Brokaw. But Peter was my favorite.

I read his book "The Century" and I have "In Search of America", which I picked up not a week ago. I am sure it will be as good a read as the first one.

Good Night Dear friend...you were with us far too short a time...

Peter Jennings was always my favorite since I was a kid.

I always liked the sound of his voice and the way he would smile.

Didn't realize he was a Canadian until his death today.....

Last night, after ABC did a short program to
announce and remember him, I watch CNN.  They
were the only news channel that did extended
coverage of his death.  They had reporters who
had worked with him tell the world about him.
Then later they broadcast an interview of Peter
by Larry King from 2003.
