Having logged more miles on aircraft than I care to admit, the only solution is to enjoy whatever the locals do. It gets real boring traveling to strange places so I have been on a mission to make them "un-strange." I eat where the locals eat, find the right watering holes and just try to blend in though  in Boise, ID, I'd have a hard time doing that. I have a provider friend that comes to Chicago 4x per year and she drives (about 700 miles). She told me she's not the greatest driver and in strange cities always thinks she'll Wreck the rental. Well, she likes strip clubs and I showed her around to a couple of them. Well, I had a great night and more table dances than you can shake a stick at. Because she made friends so much easier than I, it was like watching poetry in motion. I think she has known for sometime what took me over 10 years of flying around. Go where the locals go, but act like you belong.

but I try to make the best of it when I can. Some cities make it easy to have a good time. If I'm in Houston I'm heading right for the strip clubs( in my opinion the have the best)In Atlanta , there's a couple of clubs that I always have a good time at.Dallas has some of the most reasonable priced providers I have seen anywhere.  Chicago has great places to dine and have some drinks.Phoenix/Scottsdale is great in winter.  Miami has all the entertainment I can handle at times. LA is usually going to send me home exhausted. The small cities are the ones I hate being in, hotels blow, very few good places to go out and worst part is I usually have difficulties getting in and out the same day .

At this point I've probably been to every Football, baseball stadium and basketball arena  in the country. It been great making new friends in so many places and the basic cultural differences in different parts of the country can be interesting to explore.
