I see a lot of Asian providers so an additional shower just comes with the territory. I still usually take a shower shortly before leaving for a session just out of habit of not leaving the house unclean, even though I know I will be taking another one as soon as I get there.
Usually my rule of thumb, as long as I "know" I am clean (shower within an hour of actually showing up at her door, with no long walk in 90+ degree heat) I usually just let her be my guide. If she guides me towards the bed with her tongue wedged into the back of my throat I am usually pretty confident we are good to go, but if she gives the slightest indication that I should shower again, I usually take a quick one for her piece of mind if nothing else.All of my hobbying sessions require me to spend some time in the car to get to. My standard practice is to shower, brush, mouthwash and cologne, get dressed and jump in the car. My closest provider is a 20 minute ride away and I have driven 2 hours for a session.
So, how long of a time period can I reasonably let pass before I need to consider showering at her incall?

Showering with a lady is one of my favorite activities. Unfortunately, I have never seen a shower north of the border that can match the Tijuana "love motels" for size.

I always offer a shower to my clients. Not surprisingly, the ones who accept are probably the ones who didn't really need one. Many times the ones who say they just showered, did not. I can tell that they didn't. And I might suck it up but I don't like it. Why lie about something like that? It's gross.
I should be braver and send them back into the shower if there's a smell but I don't want to embarrass them.
Oh, and another thing I want to say about this is...
When you shower before an appointment just wash your ass in genitalia with soap. That's all that really needs to be done. You don't need to take a 20 minute long shower and wash everything. Were asking for two minutes to wash off where you want to Mouths to go.
Always use soap on your armpits, ass and genitalia. Use deoderant. (This reminder is only for about 10% of the population). Water alone does not clean the smell off.
I would never start the time until after the shower. So please guys, do take a shower when you arrive. I'm not going to force you to if you say you don't need one, but it's so much nicer.
You are correct. I am a hobbyist who always showers when I show up even if I showered before because you always want to be clean as possible so it is enjoyable for all. In fact, I would also remind the ladies to shower well. There have been some providers I had to stop seeing because I realized that they seemed to have trouble washing their butt well. A bad smell during the middle of a session can sort of be a turn off. It is important to remember that you might have showered but when you walk around or move around rigorously you might not realize that small amounts of waste might actually seep out of you and cause you to smell.
I also shower and put on fresh clothes. The longest drive I make is about 75 minutes, and normally I am good to go. One gal I see baths with me at the start of every session, but that's more a part of the whole session.
Always use the AC in warm weather when driving and also be sure your car is clean and fragrant too

....whether I have been driving for 2 minutes or 2 hours, even if I showered minutes before leaving to go see her. I will feel fresh & clean and I think that she will appreciate the effort.
...live in some humid shitbox of a city, which to me is any city east of Phoenix.
And asking shows your genuine concern that the lady is comfortable entertaining you. When in doubt, a fresh shower is always best.

I always shower. It only takes a few moments and puts everyone at ease. I a lady is going to suck my dick the least I can do is have it as clean as possible!

thing- if you've showered within two hours (with no major sweating in those two hours), you should be fine. But I highly recommend a quick once-over of the pertinent areas with a lightly soapy washcloth when you arrive no matter how recently you've showered. It's quick, easy, and takes the guess-work out of it. And washing hands should be mandatory. 
There is something very nice about a well groomed man upstairs and downstairs. Makes it easier to have more sensual play.
I met a lady at her incall once this year around 4PM, and she told me that I was the first guy who ever shaved upon arrival. This surprised me greatly, as I can be pretty "prickly" by 4 PM and I'm sure I'm not unique.
