I don't think it's normal...

But, I could see how the p411 PM system could be used that way. I guess the DC guy thought maybe your gal knew this other gal.

I was with one of my regulars last night and she showed me something she received via PM on P411...

A client from the DC area messaged her asking for her to vouch for another provider in the Albany area...my girl was not very comfortable with this...she did not know either the client or provider in question, and responded with that fact to the PM...

I was under the impresssion that P411 was primarily for client verification...do clients often use it to verify providers as well?

For a provider to get on p411. Someone either verified provider or reviwer "in good standing", or a p411 member that has seen you must vouche for you. It's not easy for a provider to get on p411 either.

Sorry looks like I gave you the qualifying information without the answer. Is it uncommon? No. But your only supposed to vouche for people you know in the rw or have had a session with.

Gina very rarely accepts provider vouches to accept a new provider, and even then, she'd require additional information. I had a helluva time getting approved on P411 because it isn't widely used in Seattle, where I lived at the time, so I couldn't have any of my clients vouch for me, and she wouldn't accept another provider's vouch (even though I had like, a dozen providers who'd vouch for me). I ended up having to send in my ID.
