I was actually about to post a thread about it, but since this one's already here..... ;-)

So if there's no messaging system on DC, how does a prospective client verify that he is that DC member?  

Also, other than lack of messaging and layout, is it very similar to P411?  

Years ago, I'd heard not-so-great things about DC from other providers so I never considered it.  But now that I'm looking into traveling, I too have noticed that it is far more popular in some locations than P411.   So it would be good if I can add DC as another screening option.  :-)

sharing from a provider's perspective which site you use depends on which city you live or travel to.
In some cities P411 is used more than date-check and other cities vice versa.
I like P411 better the site is easier to navigate and you can send a provider a private message via P411.
Date-check I use it but the site looks very cluttered can be hard to navigate and no messaging system.
Also I find on Date-Check some of the profiles listed are of providers who are no longer in the business

If the client contacts you via email, then you can verify the email address on DC.

I LOVE p411.  I know it's more expensive, but the providers and the hobbyists are all verified.  Everyone is safe to see, as much as possible.  If someone gets complaints they are not allowed to be on P411.

I've had problems with some DC guys.  I can't say that I've ever had a problem with a p411 client.  I get bookings from there all the time.  I feel the clients are above average.

If you have two references you can try p411 for free for 6 months.  I highly recommend it.

if i give p411 2 references, can i still join without employment verification? what if somebody is self-employed, in between jobs, or simply can't have somebody calling their job to verify due to security concerns? can they still join p411 with only 2 lady references?

It doesn't have an integrated appointment request system. Basically a gent has to email you and provide his DC ID which you could use to then check his profile with his vouches. I understand that the gals have a scale in DC where on P411 it's either he's okay or not.  

Both, provide us notification when a gal has viewed our profile. I think on DC a gal can peruse the guys profiles, where on p411 you need his ID.

Dear Jaydalee:
How do you use the information that you would get from each site?  Does one compliment the other or are both of them a mere reiteration of each other with p411 having the better organization? Also is this just the beginning  of your screening process or would you be more in depth with interviewing fellow providers and maybe having discussions on the providers only board as well?

because they have an 800# that permits you to talk to a real person about screening options.  When I joined DC there was no 800# at that time.  Not sure what the situation is now.  DC's calendar function is nice, though.

I started with D-C because it was easier to join and I don't have to worry about making recurring anonymous payments which, just from TER experience, can get screwed up.  

I find a lot of useful D-C listings and approvals in the northeast, so that's a plus, too. Contacts are confirmed by matching my D-C email to my hobby e-mail. Of course, I still require TER reviews, so we can confirm each other via TER PM, as well. Non-TER guys don't have that option and she can't add the TER PM for them, either.  

Nobody mentioned it this time, but RS2K seems to popular in the midwest, like Chicago

I joined P411 through their employment verification system and I'm a Basic+2, which opens a lot of options as far as screening is concerned...

I was referred into DC by one of my girls but really can't get a grip on how the site is supposed to work...but I have it if I need it...

IMO DC has too much going on. I only log in there to screen clients. Their board to advertise is way too cluttered unlike P411 its a breeze and organized.
