when I go to clean up my tracks on the computer I am running into a small problem. I delete the cookies, delete temp files and clear history. Everything seems to erase with the exception of TER and a few other sites I have visited. If I go into internet explorer and typ in "www.t" The auto fill shows several TER links. Is there a way to fix this? Please help

Go to Internet Options / Content / AutoComplete. Select Clear Forms. Also on the General Tab, select Clear History.
In Internet Explorer:
Tools
Internet Options
Content (tab)
Auto Complete (button)
uncheck the checkboxes in the window that comes up.
Click the clear forms and clear passwords buttons.
Click "OK" in that window
Click "OK" in the Internet Options window.
That should get rid of the autocomplete when you type URLs.

That has fixed my problem at hand thank you. But I do not understand why the auto complete would remember some web sites such as TER and not others after I deleted history, cookies etc. I personally like the auto complete function but when I want to get rid of all traces of web sites TER just would not go away. None the less Your help was appreciated and it does hide the needed info from the eyes that do not need to see it.
there are several "wash" programs. I use Window Washer (TM), from Webroot, about $20. I set it to wash and "scrub" each time I exit IE, seems to do the job and completely eliminate tracks.
There are also companies that will come to your home and wash your windows. But everytime they come to my house, it rains the next day. Oh well.

The former doesn't store history (if you set it that way) and the latter cleans stuff you aren't even thinking about, like vid players... and overwrites files so they can't be retrieved.
IE also has the option of not storing history:

Biggest difference is that, I believe IE's default number of days is 20, and Firefox and the Mozilla Suite default number of days to keep history is 9.
Biggest problem with IE is ActiveX controls, auto-complete and history are not handled all that differently between the two.
Me, I prefer Firefox, I have been using Mozilla browsers for about 2 1/2 years, started with either .2 or .3 of the Mozilla Suite, and went to Firfox at .2 nightlies....but switching browsers isn't always the answer, and wouldn't answer the question posed...if he switched to Firefox without solving the problem at hand, whoever he didn't want seeing the auto-complete for TER would have still seen it.
Best advice is if one is using Windows XP, set up differnt user accounts for each person that uses the computer, and have them not be admin accounts, this is also better for security in general.
Not only cleans up tracks, it fills in the DAT files with zeros so no record of where you have been even in a system file that cannot be deleted.
