I thought I remembered your posting name but I had to look.  (Not shilling.  AW is on the NY Board and NY Ad board.)

To a non-TER guy, once he's in a certain category (e.g., yours) and he's choosing from pics and text (if he actually reads the text), everything is a crap-shoot. And sometimes the dice roll your way.

Us TER guys use more than just a website or ads: reviews are important so we are more likely to roll with what we know. (Does she or doesn't she?)

You are in a category where there is a lot of well validated competition for those hobby bucks and hobby time. (We're not just risking the $, we have to set aside time, blow off friends or other things, to do this. A blown opportunity is sometimes a bigger burn than the wasted bucks.)

It might take a while to get someone to TOFFT (take one for the team) and post a review. Once the first review and Profile go up, things from TER should be much better.

Good luck

I think this is really odd, but I wonder if there's something I'm missing out on. It seems that every person who has contacted me from TER so far has either wanted to just chat for days without making an appointment, or they give me their information to verify, and then don't follow through with making an appointment, or if they do make an appointment they cancel. I know this sort of thing will happen from time to time, but it's odd that not a single TER guy has followed through on an appointment, but I almost never have this happen with people who contact me from other sites. Since it's so specific to this one website I wonder if there's something I might be doing wrong on this site to drive them away.

I speak from experience: I was gone from the biz for about 5-6 years, so when I returned earlier this year I was still an unknown quantity.  Even though I provided my TER ID# that showed nearly a hundred reviews,  I had the same problem as you.  People wanted to email back-and-forth endlessly without ever booking, and the few that did book would then cancel.

The thing is,  no one wanted to give me a chance.  Not even my former clients.

Then I ran a low-low special on my local ad board that enticed a few gentlemen to accept the risk that I was not as advertised; most of them then wrote reviews for me, including a former regular who confirmed that I am indeed who I claimed to be.

Since then, things have been much better. :-)

You just have to convince a couple of guys to see you and then follow up with positive reviews.

Urgh! I've had the same problem lately! I am verified on many other sites and I also had an old client who recently seen me try to review me but he was not already a member because he wanted to be as discreet as possible but they didn't even approve it :/

I had the same problem. When I decided to come back I had one way outdated review and no one would see me. I had the sexy photos, website and all but I always was questioned " any reviews?"
It took only one guy though to change it. Just out of no where he took a chance and left me a great review now things been good

It's encouraging to hear that things may improve once I get some reviews. I guess I'll just have to start asking the clients I do see if they're on TER.
